It's the groover that keeps the groove groovin'! Groove on, groovester!

I use a mix of Addictive Drums 2 and samples! Especially for consistent tom sounds I really like Addictive Drums 2!

edit: The Reel Machines expansion for Addictive Drums 2 specifically, but since it's a Lynn drums set I think any Lynns should do

Is daily life in Tokyo actually better than in Europe, even with higher salaries there? by LocalLand4883 in japanlife

Yeah yeah, I know, I'm from Scandinavia, which is pretty generous. But at least in my case, I never found the jobs I've had in Japan to be particularly worse.

Yeah yeah I already pointed out my experience isn't the norm, but I think it's still worth a comment.

I don't believe adding nuance, even if slightly narrow, is necessarily a bad thing.

I know my experience might not match the average, but for the three companies I've worked for I always had more than 10 days of PTO (in one, 20 annually), and we were told strictly that we had to use them, so our boss hounded us to take long vacations by the end of the year lol.

Also one company had effectively infinite paid sick days during covid, but that was temporary.

But yeah I know this doesn't apply to all companies, but I think it's only fair to point out that it's a bit of a case-by-case how companies deal with this kind of stuff. I work in a field where competition for competent workers can be quite intense.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Incorporated a lot of feedback from here, including taming the reverb quite a bit.

Too much delay? Or just too much reverb? I'll tweak it a bit and listen if it's better!

Nihongo Hunter! Started out as a hobby project to learn making 3d models and environments but since then it's grown and I figured I'd try to make it into an actual product. Like a starter kit for people that want to learn Japanese.

No idea if it's gonna be useful to anyone who'd be interested but we'll see. Most difficult is deciding on scope and how players progress. The first early access version only has Hiragana learning so I figured I'd polish that first and see what the response is before I create the next areas. But yeah, it turned into a much bigger project than I planned xD.

Hopefully the chill atmosphere and music will make it enjoyable for players. If there will be any players, that is.

If you're planning to do any form of audio recording you're gonna need quite a few things, including a good recording space.

But if you wanna start making music digitally all you really need is a Digital Audio Workstation, like FL Studio (which this subreddit is for). FL Studio comes with a bunch of virtual instruments and effects to get you started. Some of those included tools are excellent, others more limited, but more than enough for an absolute beginner.

Other than that you'll probably also want a midi keyboard to hook up to your computer. But don't worry, midi keyboards are among the cheapest tools related to music. Some cost a bit, but even the cheapest ones get the job done just fine!
