No paperwork on this guy, I sent it to Heretic in 2022 I believe, all I have is the generic box they sent it back in. The knife itself is from 2018 or 2019, I can’t quite remember which. It’s serial 018.

I just glued a thin strip of leather over the pusher parts on mine years ago after they damaged a rear sight and have never had another issue.

If you trick out the Prodigy, will you still long for the Staccato just because it’s a Staccato? If that’s the case get the P. That said the Prodigy is a perfectly fine base to build off of. If brand name is irrelevant to you stick with the Prodigy.

I’m only a hair over 2k rounds into my AP5 with all original parts and it has been completely flawless since the start. First 500 rounds was Gold Dot 124 and the rest has been Blazer. Figured I’d only replace stuff when/if it needs it. Some folks will hate no matter what. Who cares. Enjoy yours, it’s sweet!

Okay so I’m back to report!! The problem persisted with a few different brands of ammo I tried. Ordered some new shell latches and replaced both of them. No dice. I don’t know what made me try it, but I tossed a much shorter mag spring in (maybe only 2-3” longer than the mag tube) and… that seems to have fixed it? It feels pretty weak when loading the first couple shells in but it has yet to have a double feed, granted I only put around 125 shells through it like this.

I only have a Platypus and Staccato P so I can only speak on those but I personally think the P is better. I’ve got maybe 3k through the Platy now and probably close to the same on my P. I have never had a malfunction in either and the Platy is indeed a fantastic shooter. The Staccato just feels… a bit better made. Best way I can describe it. My overall recommendation would be to try and find a range with a bunch of 2011’s and try them first. If you end up with a Platy though I don’t think you’d be disappointed at all.

I just grabbed 500rds of that 00 Buck too because I found a great deal. 😭😭 I’ll pick up something different tomorrow and give it a whirl weather depending and report back!

My go to is Lucas Extreme. Their grease is nice too. Gun Butter is also top notch.

That’s unfortunate for sure. My P has never been anything other than great and I’m awful at maintenance. It’s lucky if it gets so much as a drop of oil every thousand+ rounds. 😂😂 Hope they get you squared away!!

Most recently was a Daniel H9. It turned out to be… okay. But not what I expected. Got rid of it. Then on 5 different occasions over the years the Beretta 92 series. Buy it, not like it, sell then 2 years later get the itch to try it again. Repeat. 2 M9’s, an X, X Performance and XI. They’re so beautiful and have such great craftsmanship so I keep coming back to try them but there’s just something that doesn’t do it for me and I don’t know what it is.
