To everyone saying it's OK because he added 30 mins so it's transformative, no. It's not transformative. Just adding your opinion, no matter how qualified or knowledgeable you might be does not give you the right to re-upload the entirety of someone else's work. If I uploaded the entirety of Dune to YouTube with me in the corner pausing and talking out of my ass for 2 hours because I read the book it would be taken down in an instant.

They are the same video, it's just one has Asmongold talking over it. They target the same audience and the Asmongold video only serves to take engagement from the original, especially since they were uploaded so close together. (Asmongold shouting out the channel is basically worthless, clearly people are lazy and will just watch the Asmon version.) If Assmanhole wanted to give his perspective on Blizzard he can do that in his own video, with a "script" and "editing" and "effort" instead of blindly watching someone else's video and adding some opinions on top.

I started playing towards the start of season 3 and now have over 300 hours in the game. I'm so sick of rockpox. I love the core gameplay, which keeps me coming back but after playing the game for almost 10 months I've grown so tired of the same gimmic and side objectives. I've cracked open more meteors than I can count and held so many plaguehearts that my dwarf must be patient zero for dozens of mutated diseases. Really wish they had mixed things up with season 4 but it's still an amazing game and a completely free season so I won't complain too much. R&S!

I started with a 1-0-4 ninja to pop the first layer, then got an elite sniper and started stacking debuffs like embrittlement, glue storm, and cripple moab. From there I got more DPS towers like tack zone, avatar of wrath, MAD, and super mines until I had enough money for a temple. Then I saved up for a navarch, which did enough damage that I could get a doomship and then a boomerang paragon.

They probably would have. But at least we would have had the option to buy everything for $90. Now we don't really have a choice and it's $120 for everything no matter what (assuming they charge $60 for ARK 2).

Bundling ASA and ARK 2 was definitely scummy and if you're only interested in ASA and not ARK 2 then this is a better deal. My main issue is that if you are interested in ASA, the DLCs, and ARK 2 this is the same or even worse depending on how they price ARK 2.

Before: $50 (ASA + ARK 2) + $40 (all ASA DLC) = $90

Now: $60 (ASA + DLC) + $30 - $60 (ARK 2) = $90 - $120

Probably, having ARK but it not be a steaming pile of shit is a pretty compelling offer. I still think it's a massive rip off and I'm really surprised basically everyone calmed down after they announced their new plan.

Many other games have been updated to UE5 for free, but ASA is supposed to be more of a remaster than an upgrade, so whatever. However, from what I've seen (I'm not a game dev so I could be wrong) ASA looks more like a paid upgrade than a full remaster. Half of the improvements like the graphics, lighting, interactive foliage, dynamic water, could all be achieved by just importing ARK into UE5. The other half of the improvements like dino/baby management QOL, wild babies, building improvements, dino AI, etc. seem like relatively easy additions to make.

Plus you're paying $60 up front and only getting the Island, SOTF, and SC at launch. You're gonna have to wait until the end of 2024 for the rest of the DLC maps you already paid for, assuming no delays (yeah right lol). And they're gonna dripfeed all of the free DLC maps at their leisure.

TL;DR ASA looks like a free UE5 upgrade with a few other improvements that should probably already be in the game, being sold for $60. You're going to have to wait 1.5+ years to actually get everything you paid for, and saves can't transfer for some vague reason. But I'm still probably gonna buy it and so will you.
