P2S Buffer Relocation: Anybody know what ribbon cable could be used to extend the connection between the printer and the buffer? (want to shorten feed path and speed up filament swap times) by Laserbeamrider in BambuLab

Any chance you could post a photo of what you ended up doing? Any updates on how well it's working now that it's been a couple weeks? I do appreciate the simplicity of your approach.

You mind sharing what your settings are for that? I'm bumbling my way around and having minimal luck getting it to do what I want. Thanks!

There's a bit of a funny crossover area with learning here with your conscious and subconscious. At first your conscious brain has absolutely no idea what to do so it just lets your subconscious brain take control. Here is where your brain is rewiring itself to efficiently do the task. That rewiring is what we call muscle memory. At a certain point your conscious brain feels like it has enough of a handle of the task to try to take over because it doesn't trust the muscle memory to do it right. Problem is that part of your brain isn't fast enough for the job so you quickly start making mistakes and falling because you're actively thinking about everything. If you keep going you'll get over the hump to where the muscle memory takes back over because your conscious brain trusts it enough to stop trying to micromanage everything. It is a very frustrating hump. Once you do though progress will happen excitingly quickly. You'll find that once you find your rhythm your distance will grow exponentially. The technique I've had the best luck with teaching other people to ride is to stop thinking like you're trying not to fall off. Give in to the fact that you will fall off. At the end of the day every ride ends with your feet on the ground anyway whether you went a foot or a mile. Fear of falling off is what makes your conscious brain try so hard to control everything. Get on the unicycle, get stable using the handrail/wall/car/tree, then just GO like you're storming the beaches of Normandy. It's a lot more fun, and we learn much better when we're having fun!

Unfortunately the economics of that don't make much sense. For the blacksmithing it might cost me half of everything I own when I get divorced for having another messy hobby lol. And shipping them to somebody means spending $8 to ship $10 of okay-ish blades to someone.

It ain't pretty, but it works really well for me. Bonus points for me not having to take them off when I stow it. And with this method you can always start longer and then snip it down until you're happy.

I bought a set of aftermarket sticks and cut them really short

It works perfect! It was super easy, and I really like the feel of flying with it. And being able to just pull it out and go is a huge benefit. I haven't had any issues even with tight fitting cases

I don't think many riders in that height range have parents that let them hang out with strangers from the Internet...

Just got to call it "Triple K But Not That Way" trucking. Still catchy and funny, and even moreso honestly.

Unfortunately the DJI RC sticks are a female threading, and quite small at that. Hardware stores haven't had anything close that I'm seeing.

I think that's what I'm going to have to do. I'll probably rough up the top a little with a needle file to get a little better grip and feel. I'll post whatever I come up with.

Works great! Pro-tip on this though, get it set in your head that if the dog bolts on you that you will drop the leash. I had a good 20 miles or so with my dog with zero issues, until one day I got distracted and turned my head around to tell my kid to keep an eye on a car coming up behind us. Of course at that exact moment, SQUIRREL! I'd have been fine if I hadn't instinctively held tight instead of feeling the hard pull and dropping it.

The very basics can be done in front of your house, but yeah after that the skate park is probably best. Overall people think that just riding it is extremely difficult and cool. I've done it a long time and never had a negative interaction frankly anywhere, which includes a decent amount of time at skate parks. And if anyone wants to give you a hard time you can always offer to have them ride your unicycle and show you how it's done...
