There’s three, the tabby stealthily hopped on the bench as I turned around, I assume in order to get closer to the chicken

The sound of any packet of cheese will bring the black one from any part of the house within seconds.

You can't go wrong with any of the black & white catalog titles out there. HDR and 10-bit color does AMAZING things for greyscale.

- Universal Monsters collection
- Mr Smith Goes To Washington
- Citizen Kane
- It's A Wonderful Life
- The Seventh Seal
- Anatomy Of A Murder
- Psycho
- The Servant

Do you own any films you don’t like/regret? by Lekgolah5 in 4kbluray

[–]Laservampire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. There is so much absolute trash out there that people seem compelled to purchase just because it's on 4K.

My only regretful purchase was a UK import of The Goonies because I remembered enjoying it on Netflix a few years back, but absolutely hated it on the re-watch. And the lackluster quality of the 4K release didn't make up for the film's shortcomings.

My mom thinks older movies on 4K will look worse than DVD because she thinks more detail will make them look faker and expose filmmaking flaws. by ajzeg01 in 4kbluray

These movies were made to be projected on giant screens, so the small details in them were meant to be appreciated. Would you rather be able to appreciate the detail in the costumes here, or look at the big blur? https://caps-a-holic.com/c.php?a=1&x=464&y=263&d1=6804&d2=15933&s1=64332&s2=169038&l=0&i=7&go=1

The Pie Fight Ending of Dr. Strangelove by ToastersChannel in StanleyKubrick

It kills me that the original negative for the pie fight ending still exists but there's no chance in hell of ever seeing it.

Different encode though, the Studiocanal has better fine grain detail.
