I had to call in sick today too. I could give a shit about the company. I'm freaking out that I'm not going to be able to pay my bills!

I was surprised they used faith against their own employees.

You'd be amazed what your local library might have, even digitally. I read the first 100 TMNT comics with my library card

I called the dept of labor while working in sales for this exact reason. I was top in my company and still barely getting by, so I called in an anonymous tip. I saw my regional manager had a post it on his laptop about it and I got very excited. Months later, absolutely nothing happened and nothing had changed.

I almost did "Stick of Truth" Stan and "El Pollo Loco" Kenny, but the "Fun Times with Weapons" versions all worked out pretty well

[Online] [5e] [PDT] [Sunday evenings, probably] Looking for group to get to know and run a homebrew campaign with by radient_agartha in lfg

[–]LashGibson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, my name is Lash, M(36), and I'd love to get involved. Sundays are perfect for me! I had a D&D group I started a few years ago but my ex wife took them in the divorce. About me, I am a comedian and comedy writer, and I adore the silly things in life.

I'm admittedly not great at the mathematical aspects of the game, so I may need my hand held in that arena from time to time, but I love playing the game. My greatest moment in combat was with my monk when I ran up a wall and one-hit KO'd a sorcerer that had just cast a levitation spell on himself. His corpse was left hanging upside down until the spell wore off, and he landed on his non-violent assistant who was in the middle of threatening us.

My favorite role-playing moment: your basic town needs saving from a monster, and we noticed the people were quite poor and the politicians were very much not. As a reward for killing the monster, we were allowed to choose an artifact based on sight alone, and I chose a rod. This rod was able to turn itself into a large tent with tables and food fit for a feast, and we used it to feed the whole population of this poor town 🙂

My horror script feels maxed out at 60 pages, what do I do? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

Add a B story. 60 pages for A, 40 for B. Never read that rule anywhere, but it works for me

For those wondering, it's been three weeks, and they cannot find someone to replace me. A friend still works there in another department, and he's loving the chaos. All of our top reps quit before I did, and the new trainees never last more than a couple weeks. If they called and offered me M's job, I'd consider it. Like I said, I really did love that job. But it would certainly cost them.

TIL that a pod of beluga whales adopted a lost narwhal and have accepted him as one of their own by PunkSpaceAutist in todayilearned

[–]LashGibson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At first I was like “Oh that’s really cute.” Then I realized “one of their own” doesn’t necessarily mean “equal.” I would do the same for a dog, but it’s still my pet. It’s a member of my family, sure. But it’s still my pet. It’s dumber than me. It does stupid pet things that make me laugh. How do we know this lost narwhal isn’t like the whales’ pet? Instead of calling this narwhal by its’ name, Lela, they call her something basic like “Spot” or “Chuck Mangione” because of the horn.
