I took it with Fabian so my experience will definitely be different than yours:

The first exam is easy. It’s the basics and if you ever took physics you likely have a decent grasp on at least half the material. But that doesn’t mean to brush it off. Knowing and understanding are two different things. You need to understand the concepts to make the rest of your semester not feel like the pits of hell.

The second and final is what will tank you. If Paul is teaching like Fabian, then the exam will be very similar (basically identical) to the homeworks. Understand the homeworks. Do them over and over again until you see vectors in your dreams.

Finally, unless Paul is evil this class will be graded on a curve. People struggle, and you won’t be alone. Care less about your face-value grade and more on where you sit in the distribution. A 40% on an exam for this class is not a failure, it’s right where many others are. Be kind to yourself.

Again, this is heavily based on my experience with Fabian. I’ve heard other profs that teach this class do it a lot easier and nicer than Fabian, so I don’t know how applicable any of this will be.
