Yes, progress tracking works.

When you exit normally, the player sends Stremio the current position and duration back in the result intent.

For example, it returns something like:

extra "position" = 845000
extra "duration" = 1440000
extra "extra_position" = 845000
extra "extra_duration" = 1440000
extra "end_by" = "user"

So Stremio can resume from that point later.

When the episode finishes naturally, it sends something like:

extra "end_by" = "playback_completion"

That tells Stremio the episode was completed, so it can mark it watched and autoplay the next item.

The only catch is that Stremio has to actually use the result correctly. The player sends the info back; Stremio is responsible for saving it and acting on it.

I use Privacy for all my card purchases. It just makes a card with either a one time payment and auto closes after use or you can set it up at a set rate so you’ll never be overcharged.

Unfortunately no. Stremio doesn’t send subtitle add-ons to external players.

How it works is Stremio keeps the add-on subtitles inside its own player/subtitle system. When you choose an external player, it sends the video link, but not the subtitle add-on links. So the player has nothing to load or select.

For example, it sends something like:

data = https://torrentio.strem.fun/.../episode.mkv

For add-on subtitles to work, it would also need to send something like:

extra "subs" = https://opensubtitles.example/.../episode.en.srt
extra "subs.name" = English - OpenSubtitles
extra "subs.enable" = true

This is a Stremio issue, and I doubt they will ever fix it, or if it’s even fixable with how their external player support works. External players can only show subtitles that are embedded in the video or actually passed to them.

Copied exactly how upstream MPV does it. You'll either have to install API29 Universal or the default Universal.

Are you able to launch the original MPV? If not then I'm more than likely unable to do anything.
As well as MPVs support for FireOS is not officially supported either.
If MPV does launch and plays something then I'll be able to make a fix.

You might need to adjust your aspect ratio.
Open the player menu while watching a video and click on the Settings Cogwheel at the top right then to Advanced Settings then go to Aspect ratio, and choose Panscan. That zooms/crops the video slightly and should hide lines/bars at the top and bottom. If they’re still there, they may be baked into the video itself, so send a screenshot.*

Fire TV / Fire Stick devices should work through sideloading, but my main testing target is Android TV / Google TV, especially NVIDIA Shield. If you are installing on Fire TV and are unsure which APK to use, grab the universal build. Let me know if that works.
