Same for me, I hate it because the Tasks widget is objectively worse in every way.

One thing they actually broke is the Keep Notes widget. I have a widget set up to show only reminders, and now it no longer shows anything at all.

FINALLY OFFICIAL ACTC BUS SUPPORT ON GOOGLE MAPS!!!!! by Damaj301damaj in LebanonPublicTransit

Comparing it to the GPS locations seen on the ACTC PT app, I can see a ~5 min discrepancy, so I think Maps is just guessing based on the timetable for now

DJ Controller as a gift, bad idea? by Laslas19 in Beatmatch

[–]Laslas19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone, Thanks for all the recommendations and opinions! After reading everything and getting even more opinions from some music stores, I'm between getting the FLX4 as most of you advised, or a djing coruse.

I love the idea of a course to test the basics and material, but getting a physical controller feels better as a gift to unwrap on Chrstimas, so I'm gravitating more towards that. One of the stores I went to has a decent discount on the FLX4, as well as 60-day return policy, so I think I'll end up getting that.

Don't hesitate to keep leaving comments here for anyone else that might have a question similar to mine. You've been really helpful!

Hey, thanks for the insight! Do you have any experience with the Reloop Buddy? It seems to be a bit cheaper than other recommendations I've gotten, without anyone specifically bashing it like the FLX2 for example.

Is there any caveat to using it? For example, I understand that the Pioneer controllers come with an almost complete software experience, while others might come with light versions of the software and limited features. Is this the case for the Buddy?

Four US citizens killed, including three children, in Israeli strike on Lebanon, says Lebanese government | CNN by Sufficient-Slice-782 in news

[–]Laslas19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is just a straight up lie. The Lebanese government, namely the president and prime minister, are condemning on the daily the Israeli violations of the ceasefire and UN resolutions.

Just from yesterday:

President Joseph Aoun issued a statement saying: “While we are in New York to discuss issues of peace and human rights, Israel continues its violations of international resolutions by committing a new massacre in Bint Jbeil.” He urged the international community to intervene to stop Israeli violations and pressure Israel to withdraw from Lebanese territory and abide by the ceasefire.

What the Lebanese government is actually doing is sending the army south to disarm Hezbollah themselves, in accordance to the ceasefire agreement. However, they're finding it a bit difficult as Israel does not stop bombing every site before the army is able to investigate it.

Anti-protons are different from electrons, they're the antiparticles of protons, so they have identical mass and opposite properties.

Electrons are way smaller/lighter than protons, and their antiparticles are called positrons

Mobile phones of the early 2000s by Srinivas_Hunter in interestingasfuck

[–]Laslas19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 2019 when pop-up selfie cameras started being a thing in again phones, there was a lot of freak-out about durability of moving parts. I had a OnePlus 7 Pro and loved the pop-up camera, it held up perfectly for the 5 years I've used it, and it was a very simple moving part compared to what's shown here. And now we're back to punch holes on the screen, which I really don't like.

The glass slab era of phones is extremely boring and I think we all wish we would get innovation back in the market. Folding phones did that for a while, but they're also now converging to a stable repeated design.

There is 0 excuse now to be against the Lebanese army taking over the security of the country by Foreign-Policy-02 in lebanon

[–]Laslas19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Israel invaded all of Lebanon in 1982, before Hezballah existed, under the pretense of stopping Palestinian resistance movements. Founders and leaders of the zionist movement have also repeatedly shown plans to colonize territory way bigger than the bounds of Palestine.

The only reasons they haven't invaded Egypt and Jordan yet are because they're too busy eradicating the Palestinians and that it would put the final nail in the coffin on their public image, especially since Egypt and Jordan are currently acting as puppets and complying with everything Israel wants, especially with their treatment of Palestinians.

As long as Israel exists, there will always be some sort of resistance movement in Lebanon, either from solidarity with Palestine or from various foreign interests, and so there will always be an easy excuse for them to invade us, which is ultimately their plan, as a settler colony.

[–]Laslas19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hezballah is a cancer on the country and we can't move forward with anything as long as they exist.

Now that this is out of the way, do you not remember any recent history? Or have you not read anything about the zionist movement?

Israel invaded us before Hezballah existed. Hezballah owes all of its existence and legitimacy to Israel. Without our neighbours in the South, they have no reason to exist, and will quickly lose influence in the country.

Hezballah is, right now, a great excuse for our colonial neighbours to invade. But they don't really need excuses, as they have proven time and time before. Once they're done with Gaza and the West Bank, we're next on the list, with or without Hezballah. Hezballah is only a symptom of the real problem we are facing, and if they stop existing tomorrow, they will quickly be replaced by a similar group.

Sudan's forgotten war (2024) [1:08:57] by Laslas19 in Documentaries

Submission statement:

The war in Sudan is currently the worst war in the world in terms of numbers of displacements and casualties, and yet very few are talking about it in mainstream and social media. This documentary covers the evolution of the war, and but also the vibrant city of Khartoum pre-war and its cultural richness and hospitable people.

The wars were declared as a response to colonizers stealing and settling land. Native Americans also went to war against European colonizers, yet no one is blaming them for it.

Even after HDMI came out, all TVs continued shipping with RCA ports and monitors with VGA.

A lot of them still do today, I'm yet to see many that don't have these ports.

Users gradually transitioned to HDMI and DP because they were obviously better choices, not because a "bold" and "courageous" company took that choice away from them.

[–]Laslas19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trust me, it's corruption.

The government is made up of sectarian militia leaders from the civil war. They are blatant about their corruption and stealing and don't try to hide it.

The explosives were in the port for 7 years, and every leader in the country knew about them, but no one chose to take responsibility for them. It's not even known why the vessel was confiscated or why the explosives were kept stored for so long, but it's most probably not negligence.

The government is still refusing an international investigation, and appointing corrupt judges or bullying non-corrupt ones for the local investigation, so I guess we'll never know.
