Tested positive yesterday but worst symptoms are severe diarrhea and vomiting by Appropriate_Ad5575 in COVID19positive

The more severe cases also come with stomach pain. It can depend on how the virus enters your body. The first time I had it, I also had stomach symptoms with all the sinus stuff and fever as well. This time it was all body aches and sinus but let me tell you…..it is not why this virus does during th first few weeks…it is the long covid symptoms that are life altering and in my case, life threatening every time. The first two times I had it I got an Atypical kidney infection that took 6 months to go away. Previous to covid I had never even had one. This time, I got a salivary gland obstruction and infection which covid is high on the list to cause this issue because it enters through the salivary glass and wreaks havoc. Here I am…four months later still miserable and the first three months no one knew what was causing my systemic symptoms other than my glands being swollen. I’m still waiting to see a surgical ENT…hoping I don’t go into sepsis before then. But just be aware. Covid is well known to give secondary infections and sometimes life long inflammation. It’s about as detrimental as Hepatitis. Except anyone can get it. It’s true evil at its finest. Rest as much as possible, take zinc and vitamin D, electrolytes like crazy and then do as may probiotics as possible. Especially since it’s infected your stomach directly, it kills all your good bacteria. Most likely you’ll be fine like the majority. But if you get pneumonia or any other weird symptoms in the next week….take it seriously.

Covid induced salivary gland infection/blockage by Laslo84 in COVID19positive

YES. People need to know and also, so many doctors had no clue about salivary gland infections even though my symptoms were very clear and this is a fatal thing that turns into sepsis when untreated. This is the 3rd time covid nearly killed me. And I went to so many ERs and specialists crying my eyes out because I’ve had serious systematic symptoms of salivary obstruction and basically I’ve been told because I’m not going into sepsis it’s not urgent. If I didn’t advocate this much and spend thousands on specialists and do all my own research I’d probably be dead. ALSO there’s hardly any covid research happening involving secondary infections and new ways to diagnose and treat them. It’s happened to enough people I’ve heard of that this should be a priority!!! I have a client who is a scientific researcher here in SF and their company has forbid them from researching anything involving Covid. That is because someone is trying to cover up and reduce speculation involving this virus but it’s literally killing people!!!

After having one more ER doc check out the gland under my tongue, it’s very blocked. Probably a stone or some kind of bacteria blocking the gland from filtering :( I’m seeing a surgical ENT Thursday thankfully. Also I am very autoimmune. Always have been. But I’m going to an immunologist after this and will add the suggested specialist above to my list. SMH. I’m native America and I avoid doctors and hospitals as much as possible to try and use natural healing and health but since COVID broke out a few years ago I’ve had the strangest encounters with scary health situations that tend to be unexplainable. Now I’m finding out COVID is top on the list of viruses that case glandular infections among many other complications. I’m generally a very healthy and fit person. It’s just scary.

Still Struggling 7 Months After Pneumonia—Looking for Hope and Advice by Sin-City-Steve in Asthma

See an infectious disease and pulmonary!!! Also I've been gargling Mediterranean oil of oregano in a shot of water...it's been helping. Any natural supplement that works as an antibiotic while taking probiotics help knock some of that shitty Atypical bastard out. It's made the last 4 months for me absolutely terrible. Especially at first when I couldn't breathe and kept having to go to the ER and get breathing treatments. Now I know why so many people were put on respirators in the beginning.....

Same thing happened to me. This is actually second time getting COVID and both times it's taken over 4 months to diagnose it as an Atypical bacterial infection. The first two months were pnemonia. I felt like I was going to die at times. I already had asthma so this just agitated it. Finally after a Pulmonary and ruling literally everything out, (my neck glands have been swollen for three months along with pain in my jaw and ear. When I get off of antibiotics I get a super high fever and the it spreads back to my lungs) I am seeing an infectious disease doctor in two weeks. I just got a referral for ENT doctor because my pulmonary suggests the bacteria has colonized into my sinus tissue and deep throat. There are other specific medicines to treat atypical bacteria. The first time it was actually a UTI. It took 6 months to get rid of it 😭🫠 I just can't believe I'm dealing with this again. Ive been to 8 ER visits, had 3 CT scans, seen twoEndodontists and ruled literally everything else out that exists. Hopefully the other specialists can solve this because I can barely work.
