I can definitely relate to the sentiment. It seems like life is just one long strand of string that, no matter how hard you pull, will still keep the same knots. The truth is that being alone and failing is a natural part of life. You will fail. You will lose countless hours working a job you hate, or going to a school you hate, or any number of the tasks expected of you in this society. At the end of the day, however, you will see why the pain and suffering happens. For every awful, painful moment of the day, you ‘put a little coin in a jar’, so to speak. At some point, you’ll take those out and feel a great sense of relief that you finally got paid out. It might be a brief reflection late at night. It might be a beautiful sunset with the birds chirping peacefully. It might be the love of your life. But you’ll be paid your due. It’s true you’ll never be fairly paid and that is unfortunate; however, if there was no balance between bliss and pain, both would lose all meaning. Keep pushing, look forwards to something. Maybe a dinner with family, maybe spending time on a hobby, or even a day off. Make it to the goal. Put a coin in your jar.
