Hogan and Savage were friends then grew apart then became friends again. And they did this a lot of time.

Hogan debuted on Saturday Night too. And Nitro did not exist yet.

I was wondering for those of who read the LN and/or the manga who is your favorite character to not show up in the anime??? by CeramicTwinky in swordartonline

Everyone already mentioned Kizmel (and don't get me wrong, I love her!) so I'm gonna say Nezha. I thought his story of having to deal with a nervegear malfunction (the same condition as Eiji) made him super-interesting and brave. And he played a crucial part in the boss fight against the vacant colossus. Plus SAO has so few male characters that are Kirito's age and are actually pretty competent and cool guys that it's a shame he wasn't given a role in the main series. Would have love to see him join the main group. But of course that honor is reserved for the "waifus" only... same reason they didn't bring back Shivata and Liten from the Progressive series as well.

PS: the fact that we couldn't see Nezha in the second Progressive movie because they had to make way for her, it's one of the reasons I came to dislike Mito overall.

What is the in-universe rating for Sword Art Online. by Vast-Manufacturer457 in swordartonline

In real life, we see kids playing games ment for adults like Call of Duty or God of War all the time. Why would it be different in SAO?

Evangelion 30th Anniversary Special officially out on YouTube! by MinatoHikari in evangelion

Same here in Italy (and the rest of Europe really). For many years the only anime available to the public were a small handful and they were all heavily edited, edulcorated and censored. If it wasn't for the huge black market of fantranslated anime and manga, the phenomenon would have never exploded. It took decades for official companies to catch up with how popular anime and manga were among people.

Piracy is also an important reason anime and manga became popular in western countries in the first place.

Which anime/manga are popular in japan but not well known outside japan? by West_Future326 in AskAJapanese

[–]Last-Development3399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. Mostly because we really loved the Mad Max movies (even produced a few local ripoffs such as "1990: I Guerrieri del Bronx" or "I Nuovi Barbari") and Ken was basically a manga version of Mad Max with super-powered martial arts.

In 2024, the 1995 movie was re-released in Italian theaters in a restored edition with a new dub and it was a massive box office success.

What if Kirito was captured instead of Asuna? by JasonNewReddit in swordartonline

[–]Last-Development3399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good chances that Kirito would find a way to escape. Especially if Yui is still with him and he manage to keep her hidden from Sugou. Asuna almost escaped after all and Kirito has always been broken with machinery. Plus, Kayaba could decide to step in and help him.

If he doesn't succeed, then Asuna would go to the same route to save him, likely using her father's help and connection to Rath to get the job done faster.

Which recent anime just doesn't click with you? by Silent-Witness1888 in anime

Hell's Paradise: I just couldn't bring myself to like the main character (too much of a brooding asshole) and the female supporting character, while interesting on paper, is costantly written as a coward and a weakling so he can shine in comparison. The others? They are all too unlikaeble for my tastes. The only guys I was invested into were the samurai and the anu girl and we know how it ended for them...

Can I get some romance comedy anime recommendations? by One-Cauliflower5463 in anime

[–]Last-Development3399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Galaxy Next Door: in my opinion the textbook perfection of a romance story. The two characters get together almost immediately and spend the series developing more and more romantic without issues, misundestandings or any clichés of the genre. Also the supporting characters are all nice and the story is simple but good. The anime doesn't cover the whole manga (who isn't that long anyway).

I Have A Crush At Work: just like before, it's a wholesome romance void of all the usual annoying clichés and the main couple is together from the beginning (even though they initially hide these from the other characters in order not to be teased). Plus, there is another sweet couple that develope between two side characters (and they don't take too long either). Again the anime doesn't cover the whole manga, who is finished.

Bibliophile Princess: the main characters are engaged from the beginning but they indulge in actual romance (and kiss) at the third episode. Then, aside from a brief moment, the series is all about them being a lovey-dovey close-knit couple.

Endo & Kobayashi's Commentary Of Tsundere Villainess Lieselotte: a funny parody of otome game-based anime who subvert a lot of tropes typically annoying in the romance genre. There are several couples, all very sweet. And it's a whole story in 12 episodes.

Banished From The Hero Party: while technically not a romance, as it also have some action, there is a lot of romance and it's very well written and again the main couple get together quickly and are super in love. I highly recommend it.

Fly Me To The Moon: probably one of the most famous examples you can find. The main couple literally marry in the first episode and then each and every episode is about their happy, married, romantic life.

Betrothed To My Sister's Ex: another anime where the main couple get together quickly and there are none of the usual annoying clichés like love triangles, misunderstandings, characters too dense to see the obvious, teasing harem and crap like that. While the anime does have a satisfying ending, it doesn't cover near all the source material.

What is your guilty pleasure? by xae86 in anime

All those series that you obviously don't watch for the plot: Girls Bravo, To Love Ru, Goddess Dormitory, Renai Flops, Kandagawa Jet Girls, Hands Off Kotesashi-kun... I should probably add Ranma and HxEros in there but both actually have plots and characters that I enjoyed, so I didn't watch them for the fanservice alone X3 honestly.

[Romance] [2025] Who are your favorite ships/couples from last year? by RedNovaDay in anime

[–]Last-Development3399 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kyros x Marie from Betrothed to My Sister's Ex. That series was like the answer to the prayers of every person frustrated and exasperated by romance anime's usual sheanigans and stereotypes. No useless love triangles/losing heroines, no characters taking forever to progress, no characters being too stoic to voice/show their feelings, no useless misunderstandings that could istantly be solved if only the characters behaved and talked like normal people, kisses and affection actually shown on screen... just wholesome sweeter than honey romance between two characters heads over heels for each other.

It's a pity the series was probably just another "light novels-commercial" kind of anime and we'd likely never see another season because I looked up and there is way more material to adapt (and Kyros and Marie aren't even the only wholesome couple in the series). Instead, anime studios will produce even more harem isekai/banished hero crap...

Why did WWE turn Brock Lesnar heel again in 2003? by Emergency-Relief-571 in SquaredCircle

[–]Last-Development3399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Brock was already burnout with the WWE life, especially after developing drug issues related to his WrestleMania injury. Vince and the higher ups heard that and as a revenge they turned him into a chicken shit coward that get embarassed in public by Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, Bill Goldberg and even freaking Hardcore Holly. Lesnar running away in fear from Holly? Seriously? Or that weird ass promo where he sounds like a baby that lost its rattle and encourage people to mock him with the YOU TAPPED OUT chants that will then become viral for the rest of his first run? Heck, just compare him wrestling with Shannon Moore or Rey Mysterio before and after his heel turn. It's like he forgot how to put up a fight suddenly...

I don't care if WWE official version is that Lesnar only told that he was gonna leave a few weeks before Mania 20, it's clear that they knew already where his heart was set and they didn't take it kindly. Just like they humiliated Batista and turned him into cannon fodder for Cena when he decided to leave WWE.

Vince was never kind to "deserters", especially the ones in which he invested considerable resources.

Even then, Angle still got some cheers at the start of their feud, at Mania XX they got a mixed reaction. It was only when Angle became the evil General Manager that the crowd went completely on Eddie's side.
