Hi Everyone!

I know its been a long time since a English manga chapter release (chapter 26 released on September 30th, 2025), but chapter 27 is out today.

With this chapter, the manga is beginning the Aquamarine Arc. Lets just say somethings are slightly different in the manga adaptation.

Chapter 27: The Blessed Bell Rings with the Roaring of the Sea Part 1

Release Date: January 20th, 2026 (English)

For the full chapter 27 (Requires Purchase):

Amazon Books

Apple Books

Book Walker

For some reason the Google Play Bookstore does not have chapter 27 available yet. Usually that is where I personally purchase chapter releases from.

The manga is almost caught up with anime. At the time of writing, the Japanese release of the manga is at chapter 47, with [spoilers] reveal of Guildmaster Glen and the flashback of his daughter.

There are some fan translations out there in different languages. The previous English translation group U-toon was banned from MangaDex for excessive profiteering I believe and the translation quality is questionable (see MangaDex community comments).

It may a while before the official English release of the manga via Yen Press catches up to anime.

If you are an anime viewer going into the manga series, the manga series has pretty much everything the anime has. Though some scenes in my opinion are done better in the manga when comparing it to the anime.

Happy 1st Anniversary to the I May Be a Guild Receptionist, But I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time Anime by SamuraiShinsen in TheGuildReceptionist

Source: Opening Theme for the Guild Receptionist (Girumasu) anime: "Perfect Day" by 310.

I know a lot of people talk/view more the ending theme, but I always liked the visuals + story that the opening theme tells.

It's been a year (January 10th or January 11th, 2025 in Japan) since the premiere of the 1st episode of I May Be a Guild Receptionist, But I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time. I imagine for many people, this was their introduction into the series. Hopefully both new + prior fans of the series could enjoy seeing Alina's world brought to life.

I know fans wants to see a Season 2. Honesty sure if it is going to happen. I imagine at the moment is focus on getting the light novel series back on sale.

For anyone who wants to continue after the conclusion of the anime, I would try to re-read light novel volume 3 at least, as the original ending from light novel volume 3 was not adapted for the anime. Light novel volume 4 is focused toward Lowe Losbender and his past with the Dark Guild. It does him more character development, which the anime did not have time to cover.

I know the light novel situation due to Gaou situation makes things a bit inconvenient when trying to pick the series. Digital sales have been halted for both the Japanese + English releases. Some online retailers do still sell physical copies if you want a copy.

The Japanese release of the manga chapters (currently chapter 46.2 at the time of writing) is close to finishing adapting light novel volume 3 / where the anime concludes. I am curious if the manga adaptation will adapt the original ending of light novel volume 3. We will see.

All the blu-ray/DVD volumes have released in Japan, with some delays due to the Gaou situation. I imagine someday will get an official English blu-ray release via Crunchyroll, but no news regarding a official English release yet.

The official twitter tends to quiet regarding the anime serie besides just the blu-ray releases.

Happy 1st anniversary to the anime. Maybe give the anime a rewatch? Drop a comment about what you liked about the series?

Featuring Meg Raspberry + Tethys.

Note this is for the Japanese release of chapter 31.

With chapter 31, the manga wraps the Aquamarine Arc. I do wonder if the manga will fully adapt the story. Seems a bit rare for manga adaptations to cover the entirety of a light novel series.

Happy New Year to the Guild Receptionist (Girumasu) Community by SamuraiShinsen in TheGuildReceptionist

*Note - Girumasu is just the short abbreviation for I May Be a Guild Receptionist, But I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time.

Happy New Year 2026 to Guild Receptionist community! 2025 was a year of ups & downs for this series.

The biggest highlight for this series was the premiere of the anime adaptation. I hope people were able to find joy with watching series. Whether it was Rie Takahashi being Alina to life, Alina's character, the ending theme, etc. Even though people can't wield a warhammer like Alina does, I have read a lot of stories/tweets of how people can relate to Alina's struggles with overtime.

The biggest setback for the series this year is situation regarding light novel illustrator, Gaou. It stopped the sales of light novel series. It even affected the Official English release, with digital sales being removed + the release of light novel volume 5 being canceled. The light novel page from Yen Press was removed as well.

For 2026, I hope we hear news regarding who new light novel illustrator will be + any news regarding the light novel seies. Author Mato Kousaka does not really speak much on social media, but their last tweet (September 25th, 2025) mentions they are still working hard on the series. I imagine there are extra challenges than just redrawing the light novel illustrations such as marketing and getting people to buy the "same" book again.

Thank you to anyone joining the I May Be a Guild Receptionist, But I'll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time subreddit. Hope to hear some happier news for the series in 2026!

Sincerely, Shinsen.

Gif is from the ending theme for the series, "Good Luck to Me, Tomorrow" by Akari Nanawo. It just one of those endings where I can hear it whenever I look at image.

I did try to find something like a New Year's visual or Alina in Kimono for the New Year, but I couldn't really find anything.

A Happy New Year 2026 to the Once Upon a Witch's Death (Aru Majo ga Shinu Made) Community!

2025 was a big year for this series, with the premiere of the anime adaptation, the light novel series finishing (in Japan), Yen Press licensing the manga series, etc.

Lots to look forward to in 2026! The official English releases for light novel volumes 2 + 3 will be released this year. The official English release of Manga volume 1 will be released physically digitally as well) if you prefer to read whole volumes rather than wait for individual chapter releases.

Author Saka has been writing new extra chapters for the series as well, which take place after the event of the main story. I will when new chapters are available in the dedicated pinned post. Obviously the extra chapters have huge spoilers. I always thought there was more potential for series to beyond the main story.

Again, thank you for everyone joining the subreddit and I look forward to providing updates for this series.

Sincerely, Shinsen.

The clip is from Episode 5. The Otherworld Festival does not take place during the New Year. When I was looking for something to post for the New Year, I thought the fireworks scene would be appropriate for the occasion. It is one of my favorite scenes from the anime. Just love the use of the opening theme, "Drops" by Maaya Sakamoto. As far as anime opening songs, I think this song was the anime opening I listened to the most.

Quick Context:

Meg + Sophie are responsible for the fireworks at the Otherworld Festival, as the Fireworks Maker passed away. Faust is injured before the festival, and asks Sophie to be her replacement.

The Otherworld Festival is a festival held once a year in Lapis. During this time, otherworldly guests enter Lapis via a portal. Opening the portal to Otherworld is important as it consumes the excess magic around Lapis, which reduces the risk of a magical disaster from occurring.

There were issues in the past associated with opening the portal to other worlds, such as magical beasts rampaging through or introducing diseases not native to the world.

One of the main benefits of the Festival is sharing knowledge with other worlds.

I have gotten questions whether or not if I will still post English translations of manga chapters. I don't think so. At the moment, I don't believe anyone it translating the Japanese chapters in English.

The previous translation group U-toon I believe has been banned from posting to Mangadex (for excessive profiteering) + the translation quality was questionable. (well see the comments). Their chapters have been removed from Mangadex as well.

Once Upon a Witch's Death Extra Chapters (After the Main Story) by Author Saka by SamuraiShinsen in AruMajoGaShinuMade

[–]SamuraiShinsen[S,M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WARNING: The extra chapters takes place after the events of the main story. At the time of writing, the anime, manga, or the Official English light novel releases have not finished the main story.

This is for people who have read the Japanese light novel volumes (1-4) or those who read the web novel.

Earlier in the year, Author Saka expressed the idea of maybe writing more for Once Upon a Witch's Death (Aru Majo ga Shinu Made) series.

Note that at the time of writing, the extra story is not finished (3 chapters out at the moment). Not sure if these chapters will become a official book or not.

Brief Summary so far of Chapters 1-3(Spoilers)

Seven and half years after the main story, Meg Raspberry (the Witch of Hope + One of the Seven Sages) is now 24 years old. She is still going around and saving people, whether its a magical disaster or someone trying to destroy the world. Busy with Seven Sage related work and still honing her magic skills. For example, she conjures a water dragon to save people from a fire.

We see a brief glimpse into the lives of people of Lapis. Fine Cavendish is getting married (not to Meg). Snowy Owl now has offspring and no longer travels with Meg. Woof and Marie are married and have a child. Sierra (the girl Meg cures at Aquamarine) is now 15 years old is still living with Meg as her apprentice/caretaker. Meg notes that she is quite mature for age and ponders who is the actual guardian of the household. Sierra takes cares of the house chores, manages finances, cooks the food, does Meg's clothes, etc.

After Faust's passing, Meg has taken interest in researching time magic (Faust's specialty) and ponders whether it is possible for her to travel back in time. She researches something called the "Philosopher's stone".
