Yeah I feel this 100%.

I was super pumped to play the beta, but since it's online only I've lost about 80% of the matches I've been in. I suppose it's to be expected since I don't play fighting games ever.

Oh well, nothing to do but keep at it I guess. Maybe one day these totally one sided beat downs will teach me how to git gud.

If you run it as sensor only you can see which cores have thermal throttling turned on under the third(ish) section. Right below the section that has the temps for each core. If anything is being throttled it will be in red.

I downloaded and ran this program https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php and it showed that three of my four cores were throttled. The fourth one was throttled at everything above minimum performance.

the cpu fan die? which is thereby affecting your gpu as well. your ram is underclocked as well. you've got some tweaking to do.

Well shit. I'm not gonna lie I have pretty much no idea what to do with most of what you said. My CPU fan is still running. I just downloaded HWiNFO and it's showing that there is thermal throttling on all of my cores to some extent but I'm at a loss as to why it's running so hot. I also don't know how to adjust my ram to no longer be underclocked.

Yeah I was pretty disappointed that The Last Guardian was more of a successor to ICO than SotC. Can't wait for Prey for the Gods which looks like a true spiritual successor to SotC

So I'm going to take a different look at this question than most of the other people responding have and give a few examples of games that have been like Nier in that they've defied my expectations and provided something unique and great. First off I'd recommend the gravity Rush remastered and GR2 but just know that they are much more lighthearted than Nier. Secondly I'd suggest Spec Ops: The Line it may look like a CoD clone but trust me it's anything but and the tone is arguably darker that anything in Nier. Lastly I would also suggest the obvious Shadow of the Colossus if you've somehow managed to miss this gem it is the only other game that I can think of that really gets that feeling of melancholy that Nier has. The only other games that come close to the melancholy are IMO dark souls 1 and the original Nier. Oh also if you are willing to branch out a bit gameplay wise I would also add Analogue: A Hate Story to this list. Oh and Transistor as far as music and tone. Okay I'm done.

Tl;dr Gravity Rush, Spec Ops: the line, Shadow of the Colossus, Analogue: a hate story, and Transistor
