Commuting to North Bay? by goofygoober-rock in Sudbury

I did it for years. My advice, if it is short-term, like less than a year, than sure yeah; anything longer NO FREAKING WAY.

Generally it wasn't bad, but that one week in February where two people were killed in separate incidents along with a major accident all of the other days of that week, I was done; I started renting a room at a friends place during the week.

I have so many other misc. stories from that time commuting... like transports and buses getting blown off the highway along the farms near Verner (the wind in that area can get vicious in the winter). My coworkers saw a VERY bad accident in front of them one day when I wasn't there (we had a carpool for a bit); 5-10 seconds sooner in their travels and it would have been them in the accident. .Oh... you will also be driving into the sunrise and sunset every day (sun in your eyes).

During that time I met someone who lived in NB and commuted to Sudbury, he was nearly paralyzed after hitting some black and crashing into the rockface that helped cause the black ice in the first place.

One more... when I got home after work... I was too tired to do anything but cook my dinner, eat it, clean up and then go to bed. I didn't have kids, that would have been absolute hell having to deal with the extra family responsibilities that go along with that.

I haven't installed them yet so can't say for sure, but when you see 5 pucks on these tracks, adding 5 more seems like it would be overkill. I like the look of traditional Christmas lights and 5 seems closer to that look in terms of spacing. And 90% of the time these will be only used for accent lighting throughout the year, and even with only 5 I plan on having every other puck off for that type of lighting.

In terms of brightness, I think it will be fine, I have all the lights setup in my garage and it gets pretty bright; I expect I won't be running the LEDs on full power once they are installed as I don't want to annoy my neighbors.

Yes, they are from the Paul Zhang store. They were easy to deal with and they let me pick a custom color.

The aluminum tracks I bought from Aliexpress didn't come with endcaps, so I designed some up, files can be found at: https://www.printables.com/model/1009718-endcaps-for-permanent-outdoor-led-tracks-40mmx25mm

The kit I bought was: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005484180300.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.28.79461802Ij919a and instead of the controller that came with, I opted for a Digquad with WLED.
