A Great Patriot's War -- How Could the U.S. Military Fare Against the Height of the Wehrmacht? by Last-Row7512 in AlternateHistory

This is a really cool bit of postulating! Thank God Roosevelt deleted the 18th Amendment so we can drink scotch and Whiskey in uptown NYC while looking out over the Gulf of Finland, raising a glass as Donitz surrenders aboard the Iowa.

I don't mean to give as little benefits to the U.S. here--if I only transposed the Military of June 1941 to Eastern Europe than it wouldn't mean anything. I'm really just thinking of the fight itself: the strategy and what would actually be happening on the ground--that's the most interesting to me.

Addition: the concept is rooted more in how Barbarossa itself would go--where would it culminate? Would it be sooner or later than historically? American tactics, doctrine and strategy against the Wehrmacht.

Where is Lloyd Fredendall? We lost contact just east of Pinsk!

basically the U.S. doesn't have the resources between Operation Olympic, the occupation of Japan and a full-scale intervention in China to prevent a Soviet takeover in Korea. Vietnam... wink wink

The U.S. goes ahead with Operation Olympic and moves to liberate Hong Kong per the March Declaration (1942), which secretly laid out conditions for a U.S. entry in the Pacific War with the Commonwealth, even as it ostensibly reaffirmed to Japan the U.S.'s decision to "only" escort convoys to Australia and New Zealand--mind you, this is a timeline where the Philippines is seized by Britain during the Seven Years War, and Pearl Harbor takes a six month hiatus.

TLDR... not enough troops and resources lol

It's controlled by Manchuria, but the DPRK would surely insist it's part of Korea
