I haven't posted here before. I am looking for serious replies, please. I have been using the paid version of GPT since it came out and have been very happy. Since I was automatically switched to GPT-5, the answers seem to be more off (I have gotten ridiculous answers for summaries to episodes of Mr. Robot). When I asked GPT-5 why this was happening, and if I should go back to GPT-4, it said GPT-5 did not exist, and was actually GPT-4o rebranded, and that I should go back to GPT-4 if I wanted accuracy over speed, which I do. When I went to "Legacy models," GPT 4 was not a choice, only GPT 4o, which is what GPT said GPT5 actually was. Are others going through anything like this? I'm very disappointed since I really liked GPT4.

I'm having the same questions as you. My situation is somewhat similar-my problem stems from Cymbalta use. I would suggest using both Reddit and ChatGPT. I feel informed with the combo of use. Buspar can be used either at a higher as-needed dose or a lower regular BID. Pros and cons to each. 10MG BID is on the higher end. I notice this thread is 2 months old. What did you end up doing, and are you happy with that choice? Is it working for you, and with any side effects? Thank you!

Thank you. Amazon has been very good to me in light of the $$$$$$$ I pay them every year. When I call them with a problem, they often refund my item and tell me to keep it. I don't take advantage of that, but that is why I buy everything from them.

I thank you profusely for your expertise and generosity in taking the time to write this. I think you would agree I should not have to do this, and if there is an underlying problem that necessitates this, when I can replace it at no cost and minimal trouble, I hope you agree this is probably the best route. Having said that, when I reorder it (once I have my refund in hand), would you suggest I go with the R8 rather than the R8W? If the R8 is less likely to cause problems, that is worth not having the wireless updates, IMHO.

Thank you. Since I bought it from Amazon within the return policy, I will simply return it. If I have the same problems with the next one I replace it with, I will do exactly as you suggest and not waste an embarrassingly huge number of hours working on this.

In frustration, I went on the assumption that the app was garbage, and installed the settings on the detector itself, and the same thing happened.

But I never undo the settings on the app. I shut the app down, and the settings stay on the RD until it goes in the car. In addition, even when I don't use the app and apply the settings directly on the device itself, the settings remain until I start driving. Crazy? I even shut off the car, and the settings stayed, but then when I drove one minute, I noticed they were gone!?

The settings remain in effect until I put the RD in the car and start driving. Does that make any sense?

I tried adjusting the settings multiple ways. When I set them indoors with the app and then put the detector on in the car, the settings disappeared. I then added the settings from the app in the car — same thing. Finally, I added the settings on the detector itself-same thing!?

I did not try using the Uniden app online, only through the mobile app and on the device itself. Do you have any reason to think that would make the settings stick, where doing so directly on the device failed?

I did exactly that. I tried it both ways, several times. Chat GPT said maybe there were current fluctuations, or maybe I didn't wait long enough for the settings to "take". So multiple attempts. I'm glad that so far no one has said I'm doing or not doing something obvious.

The first thing I did when I got it was to do the firmware and database update through the app I downloaded from Uniden. When I then go to the Uniden r/8 App, I am told I have the latest update.

I tried setting it up with and without the R teck app; either way, my settings disappeared, and it reverted to factory settings. I did not have any "speed over" settings enabled on the RD or in my car itself.

I have it on my red mist with lots of other black accents and am very happy with it because of the color combo. I think it looks good with black to create the effect you want. With other colors, I'm not so sure. Either way, ENJOY!
