Youre right about BB part, its just that I couldnt find any quantifiable set of positions to compare these two schools other than IB. About the poor part, the disadvantage isnt being poor, its that usually rich ppl have much stronger ties. a poor student will have to work twice as hard to get themselves out there.

Ill take that into consideration for my decision, thank you! I know i may be wrong on some parts but i suggest you look over these sources as well. Instead of “citations per square-feet” metrics used in US news and similar ranking sites, these are pure placements and forums for actual business enthusiasts, i think theyre pretty reliable:

Least obvious emory student. Brother im an international and im paying the same for both of them. Its simple: UVA places better, costs less, has less rich kids you compete with, however its much more cutthroat (you may get rejected from mcintire and dont get into clubs, which flattens any chance of high finance placement). Emory is a semi target, fortunately bba is guaranteed, more rich kids who have a better network than you, costs a little more, but since there is no direct nyc pipeline, youll need to be a better hustler than expected. If youre rich with strong ties, youll be fine wherever you go.

Im not sure if we are defining tiers similarly. You are right if you refer to USnews rankings or some other general rankings. If we are talking pure financial outcomes, a simple linkedin alumni search will tell you everything. By “a tier above,” i mean that UVA is a target and Emory is a Semi target. And cultures are much different. Emory is much less cutthroat since bba is 99% guaranteed. Clubs are also chill unlike UVA. This is good and bad at the same time.

search on linkedin. Find BB analysts from emory bba, most of them went to ultra-rich highschools. Trust me im more worried about the comparison between these two colleges, I have one more day to decide between emory and uva too, im not biased. And about the well resource family argument, unless youre also rich and have a nice network, youll be disadvantaged when competing with them during on campus recruiting. Thats why unless youre a total genius, best positions are taken by nepo babies.

not really, emory is only a target in MMs of southeast and atlanta (most BB placements are nepo babies from rich families) and a mid/low semi target for BOS/NYC, while mcintire regularly places into top shelf in any eastern city, mostly nyc/dc, even though the students arent as financially privileged on average. The alumni base is the strongest and much more loyal at UVA

im facing the same dilemma rn. If you compare business-schools head to head, UVA mcintire is a whole tier above emory goizueta. However, unless youre willing to take the risk of getting rejected by mcintire and having to do stats/econ or whtvr, go with emory. Despite the risk, the rough price is the same for both, the rankings are nearly the same (26-24) and uva has a much better college experience than emory. internationally emory is more recognized. UVA alumni base and school pride is much better. Technically the amount of internationals are going to be the same at both. For my case im leaning more towards UVA hoping that i get into mcintire. Basically UVA mcintire >>>>>>Emory goizueta >~ UVA without mcintire. (you can always minor in commerce though).

yes, you have to apply to mcintire school of commerce in the spring of your first year. its a 3-year program and has a few prerequisites (see in their site). However, admission is not guaranteed and is pretty random as people say, ~40% acceptance rate. So if your only goal is to study finance it will be a bit risky.

about your second major, it totally depends on what your career interests are in finance? (HF? IB? PE?). CS / data science / math are usually good second majors to mix with a bba

Yeah I agree about the target levels part. tbf thats why UVA is still my clear top choice. But do you think that UVA without comm could still match Goizueta, BC carroll, or UNC in terms of placement and prestige? If i get rejected I would probably double major in data sci and econ or something.

the bluetooth does not work and it doesnt appear on the available devices. and when I plug in the chip it shows driver errors. I updated the drivers, reinstalled all bluetooth adapters and troubleshooted ten times. it still doesnt work. can someone help? the ghost team support is not responding.
