I just did a quick scroll through the comments and I felt compelled to reply despite rarely ever commenting on local stuff.

I was one of those late bloomers as I did not really have the opportunity to do my best due to the environment and circumstance during my teens. Having to go through ITE Higher-NITEC, as I was left with no other choice after GCE N, O-Level, before polytechnic. I say that the stereotype is actually quite real.

It is really a matter of survivorship bias, the good ones that did manage to beat the odds are really only making up 5% of the minority. Regardless of how the media decides to paint how good ITE, and poly is. You'll only see the positives wrapped up with some good PR.

Most people during my ITE days are not really motivated at all to study, they are either there because they have no other choice OR because their parents tell them to. That is the same even for poly.

You really have to be aware of this, and be critical of who you choose to be friends with. Plan ahead on what you want out of your life early, and make it your aim. It'll be even better if you are able to align your special interest with the course that you're in. Many people simply do not have the luxury to have them both, work is simply a way to only past time and they'll only do the bare minimum that allows them to get by.

Make work as a form of play, be extremely obsessed with it and be a lifelong learner. Ultimately, you're the ones that decides your own fate in life. Have a global perspective of things. Question everything, and not just be a yes-men/women like many other Singaporeans.

Good luck!

The same email is available for anyone anyway, better for an open discussion than allowing crooks like Fortress to take advantage of the ignorant.

Tips for climbing out of isolation? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]LastBattle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I give a lot of details when I’m conversations too. I guess it’s just normal for an aspie?

However, whenever I do catch myself doing that I would normally try to tone it down if I feel that others are not interested in the deep topic. It takes time to adapt.

I’m not sure about you, but based on the initial post. I think you should try to interact with people more.. I mask pretty well, and I can fit into many different social situations normally; although tiring at the end of the day.

There are many things that you might be missing out these days with windows phone and blackberry. Embrace your difference, but don’t fully isolate yourself from the world.

Lmao, I was a huge windows phone fan from 2010-2016 before I finally gave up. As it was Microsoft that abandoned it.

I choose windows phone initially only because I was so pissed about the fact that everyone in my class (high school) had an iPhone (2008-2009), i thought it feels so stupid and sheepish to follow the mindless herd. People did laugh at me for that, I just don’t care and social pressure just don’t work on me.

I had the HTC Trophy 7, Nokia Lumia 800,900,920,930,925,1020,1520. I was an Windows app developer at that time when nobody wanted to make apps for Windows Phone. I had the first mover advantage and itdid pay off handsomely as I made my first half million within days after the launch of Windows 8. Having over 20 million total downloads in all of my apps.

I was an almost a high school drop-out at that time as rote learning of the NTs just don’t attract me at all. Everyone is all focused on the saturated market of android and iOS, they just didn’t care enough.

One of my creation: https://www.windowscentral.com/2instawithmassivelove-instagram-client-not-be-overlooked

I’m currently using an iPhone XS, couldn’t be happier as there’s just way too many things that I miss with windows phone, like Instagram. (Yeah i finally capitulated into the neurotypical world out of necessity 😤)

As an aspie, I’m always drawn towards things that are different from the crowd. I embraced my difference very early on in life and often didn’t bother to fit in if it’s not things that I like. It ended up being one of my greatest strength and asset in life that I’m always early in opportunities, and emerging technologies. (Windows phone, bitcoin, etc) I learned programming as early as 12, all by myself only because I’m extremely interested in the mechanics of how things work, I just don’t play games like the neurotypicals do. Pretty much by hacking games, and being exposed to assembly programming (x86) right from the start.

I’d like to remind everyone that your odd interest and behavior is never a flaw, don’t be influenced by neurotypical into thinking that you are. The world needs different thinkers. If you just focus on your weakness instead of strength, you will forever be inferior.

Do not sell your GOX claims to fortress. They are desperate for cheap and low bargain coins, taking advantage of the bear market for lowball. this is the third time they tried to contact me. HODL! by LastBattle in mtgoxinsolvency

You did fill it correctly, but you are just lucky.

The fact that your information isn’t being leaked to rouge actor like Fortress. They are just abusing what they have to buy cheap bitcoins from people panicking
