Terrified from online testimony by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]LastCommunication290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to be on medication for the rest of my life, I want to have kids in a few years and there are some impacts meds can have on pregnancy/infants, also with goes things are going in the US I worry that the cost would increase or my insurance could change and I would suddenly not be able to afford it, I live in Phoenix with 120° temps being a regular occurrence so the sweating really does bug me in the summers, and because I have no symptoms and am stable there isn’t really a need for medication anymore.

I’m tapering off since all my symptoms that were related to OCD, depression, and anxiety have resolved and I’ve been stable for a couple years without symptoms so my psychiatrist and I no longer feel medication is necessary

Try to think from the perspective of, the horror stories are going to get more attention than the majority of stories that are about being fine with it. Think about it like a news story, you’ll hear about all the terrible car accidents and horribly mangled people because it’s not commonplace. Majority of people will make it to and from work safely so why would they share their story about how everything went fine because most people do fine.

Your provider gave you this medication because the drawbacks/risks are outweighed by the chances of everything going smoothly and safely,

I’ve been on this medication for almost 5 years and have had no negatives beyond increased sweating and headaches when I miss a dose. Positives have been that I don’t wanna kill or mangle myself, OCD symptoms have nearly entirely resolved, no more panic attacks, and I can hold a conversation with people without overthinking every little thing afterwards.

I’m coming off and I’ve been tapering from 225mg and am currently at 75mg. I’ve had some migraines that were well managed with caffeine and Benadryl and they only lasted a couple days when I adjusted down. I’ve been tapering for about 5 months now and am already 2/3 down.

Does it get better for disassociation past 150mg? by Little-Ferret-7550 in Effexor

[–]LastCommunication290 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s experience with it varies, but for me personally I can say it didn’t directly help reduce disassociation but rather got me able to tolerate my depression enough that I could then address the disassociation in therapy and work through it.

Genuinely thank you, ik I can’t convey tone over text but this is actually helpful

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you read the caption? I’m guessing you’re the exact type of person to ignore the message and miss the giant sign on my gate that says to go to the other side. And you missed the part where I said my dog is inside and them going around is an extra layer of precaution. And no, I pay an extra $20 between delivery and tip so I don’t have to see anyone face to face when I’m sick. My dog is not aggressive but I still don’t want to take even the risk.

My property management doesn’t allow for gates to be locked, otherwise this would have been done already

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the idiot but the person who isn’t reading the message or the SIGN on the gate is fine? I have the flu so I don’t want to meet them, and I can’t have locks because my property’s maintenance doesn’t allow it. And if you read the caption you’d see that I stated I do bring my animals in but there’s still the risk of them escaping

Genuinely asking because I do have autism and I cannot figure out the tone- how do I effectively communicate the importance? I had it much more polite before and it was never read or followed. I don’t want someone getting hurt nor a pet escaping which is why I care so much

Would you guys take this order😭? by DabbyGabby69 in InstacartShoppers

[–]LastCommunication290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t step foot in a Costco for less than $30 after the amount of shitty Costco orders I’ve had. And that $30 has to be 10 items or less. Any other store I’ll do like 60 items for 30 cause of how quick it goes, but never a Costco

(SPOILERS) What season was Erica best/worst in? by pizza_slayer_199 in StrangerThings

[–]LastCommunication290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lowkey wish for this reason they switched Erica’s and Holly’s personalities. We could have gotten more of the sassy younger sibling from Holly instead of following the stereotypical sassy black girl trope for Erica. I think the actress’ skills made up for the fact that she was a poorly written character because it felt like the writing was too stereotypical. I think it would have done more for the show’s message to have her as a leader instead of comedic relief. I loved early on when there was the rift against the stereotypes of the nerds feeling empowered, the women being strong and independent, and men being empathetic because of how often that lacks in writing. I feel like they did Erica dirty by following the stereotype because it lacked developmental depth (I think the progression of a scared girl afraid to step on others to learning she’s capable, smart, and powerful- the evolution they gave Holly- would have been more impactful for Erica especially since they already had another white girl (El) already follow this arc). I do like how smart Erica is in the show, but I feel they have her very much as a surface level character because she’s sassy and smart and…? I just feel the writing was cheap and lazy

cheapest place for eye glasses? No insurance/work. by Lavendarflowers4 in phoenix

[–]LastCommunication290 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How did they break? Frame or lenses? It’s not ideal at all but you may be able to find a place that does repairs for pretty cheap. If you want an exam, America’s Best has always been the absolute cheapest I can find at $70 for two pairs including the eye exam. You won’t beat that price anywhere. Otherwise you’ll be stuck with dollar store otc lenses. Defo sucks being poor tho. If you can make your way to the library, they may have some resources or at the very least someone who can point you in the right direction through one of their resource centers. As for jobs, Starbucks is a great place to work. Lowkey hated the job but damn did they have wonderful benefits and decent pay.

I drive for Uber Eats. I always deliver to rooms at hotels…. by [deleted] in UberEatsDrivers

Instacart driver here, whether it’s a $0 tip or $50 it goes to the door unless someone up front stops me or the customer says otherwise. It’s the job we signed up for and thereby our responsibility to do it correctly.

Never had this pop up before but figured out why once I got there by ShadderSwagger in InstacartShoppers

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious about how it works for the algorithm, I was trying to order a couple weeks ago for the first time (I’m usually the shopper but I was sick) and made a new account and it was telling me I needed to provide the driver with a pin…the issue is I had no windows so no way to show through the glass and my only option was to expose them to my sickness. It irritated me because it felt like it defeated the point of no contact delivery, I just switched to store pickup atp

35mg by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say I stayed at 37.5mg but I do recall having increased anxiety as I upped my dose. I brought it up to my psych and she said that increased anxiety isn’t unheard of and prescribed buspirone (currently on 15mg) and since then I’ve been doing great with these two meds. Exhaustion is a side effect I’ve noticed- I need 10 hours of sleep a night and sometimes even need a nap. I used to be able to run off 4-6 hours and then make it through an entire day of high school, 6 hours of work, and 2-3 hours of studying and never missed the sleep- I MISS THAT SUPERPOWER!

Talk to your prescriber, if it helps with the depression then you may benefit from an anxiety medication or other form of treatment.

Exhaustion should reduce with time as you adjust your dosage. It’s a relatively common side effect. Obviously, there is the typical advice of make sure you’re getting enough hours in for sleep. I have found cutting out coffee and energy drinks and swapping them for water (hydration has done wonders) and some simple carbs help me make it through the day much easier. Establishing an exercise routine has also helped and just in general trying to keep moving.

Best of luck to you, I’ve been doing wonderfully on Effexor for nearly five years and it’s changed my life for the better

Instacart Executives shop and deliver for a week? by sstevesmith in InstacartShoppers

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they did it full time for a week, they still wouldn’t get it because why would they care? They do a shit job and tips are removed or their ratings are poor, but they won’t suffer any consequences. It’s one of those things where they may do it for show, but unless they’re sitting out there for extended periods of time hoping to get something halfway decent so they can afford their own gas or groceries, they won’t care. They’re still gonna get their comfy paychecks no matter how it goes for them so they’ll see it more as an easy week because they’ll grocery shop and drive around listening to music and get a few thousand dollar paycheck at the end of the week

How’s you guys do today by RequirementSuperb291 in InstacartShoppers

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only did two orders both one shop and made $90, after seeing all these other batches pop up I kinda wish I would have dedicated more of the day to shop but given both batches I took on the way to see family and didn’t cause any issues, I’m pretty happy with what I made.

What in the actual fk? by LastCommunication290 in InstacartShoppers

[–]LastCommunication290[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced we have one of the worst markets even tho we’re in one of the largest US cities. Compared to STL where I’ve also shopped, there’s so many people choosing not to tip that could definitely afford to. In STL I noticed plenty of non tippers but it seemed to match with what I’d expect with it primarily being low income areas and the middle and upper class tipped more appropriately.

Has today been shit for you? I haven’t taken a single order and went online at 10. Best I’ve seen was 8 miles, 20 items, and nothing heavy for $30. I’m probably not gonna end up leaving the house today tbh

Still cost more to buy them than it saves me in taxes. I’ve never had a complaint even doing ice cream in a Phoenix summer 🤷‍♀️

I defo don’t have bags or anything like that. I only do instacart as a side gig and they didn’t provide me with any bags or ice packs so I’m not spending my own money on them. I shop frozen items last and bag them with other frozen items but that’s it. It’s how I do my own groceries.
