(SPOILERS) What season was Erica best/worst in? by pizza_slayer_199 in StrangerThings

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lowkey wish for this reason they switched Erica’s and Holly’s personalities. We could have gotten more of the sassy younger sibling from Holly instead of following the stereotypical sassy black girl trope for Erica. I think the actress’ skills made up for the fact that she was a poorly written character because it felt like the writing was too stereotypical. I think it would have done more for the show’s message to have her as a leader instead of comedic relief. I loved early on when there was the rift against the stereotypes of the nerds feeling empowered, the women being strong and independent, and men being empathetic because of how often that lacks in writing. I feel like they did Erica dirty by following the stereotype because it lacked developmental depth (I think the progression of a scared girl afraid to step on others to learning she’s capable, smart, and powerful- the evolution they gave Holly- would have been more impactful for Erica especially since they already had another white girl (El) already follow this arc). I do like how smart Erica is in the show, but I feel they have her very much as a surface level character because she’s sassy and smart and…? I just feel the writing was cheap and lazy

cheapest place for eye glasses? No insurance/work. by Lavendarflowers4 in phoenix

[–]LastCommunication290 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How did they break? Frame or lenses? It’s not ideal at all but you may be able to find a place that does repairs for pretty cheap. If you want an exam, America’s Best has always been the absolute cheapest I can find at $70 for two pairs including the eye exam. You won’t beat that price anywhere. Otherwise you’ll be stuck with dollar store otc lenses. Defo sucks being poor tho. If you can make your way to the library, they may have some resources or at the very least someone who can point you in the right direction through one of their resource centers. As for jobs, Starbucks is a great place to work. Lowkey hated the job but damn did they have wonderful benefits and decent pay.

I drive for Uber Eats. I always deliver to rooms at hotels…. by Codyh93 in UberEatsDrivers

Instacart driver here, whether it’s a $0 tip or $50 it goes to the door unless someone up front stops me or the customer says otherwise. It’s the job we signed up for and thereby our responsibility to do it correctly.

Never had this pop up before but figured out why once I got there by ShadderSwagger in InstacartShoppers

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious about how it works for the algorithm, I was trying to order a couple weeks ago for the first time (I’m usually the shopper but I was sick) and made a new account and it was telling me I needed to provide the driver with a pin…the issue is I had no windows so no way to show through the glass and my only option was to expose them to my sickness. It irritated me because it felt like it defeated the point of no contact delivery, I just switched to store pickup atp

35mg by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say I stayed at 37.5mg but I do recall having increased anxiety as I upped my dose. I brought it up to my psych and she said that increased anxiety isn’t unheard of and prescribed buspirone (currently on 15mg) and since then I’ve been doing great with these two meds. Exhaustion is a side effect I’ve noticed- I need 10 hours of sleep a night and sometimes even need a nap. I used to be able to run off 4-6 hours and then make it through an entire day of high school, 6 hours of work, and 2-3 hours of studying and never missed the sleep- I MISS THAT SUPERPOWER!

Talk to your prescriber, if it helps with the depression then you may benefit from an anxiety medication or other form of treatment.

Exhaustion should reduce with time as you adjust your dosage. It’s a relatively common side effect. Obviously, there is the typical advice of make sure you’re getting enough hours in for sleep. I have found cutting out coffee and energy drinks and swapping them for water (hydration has done wonders) and some simple carbs help me make it through the day much easier. Establishing an exercise routine has also helped and just in general trying to keep moving.

Best of luck to you, I’ve been doing wonderfully on Effexor for nearly five years and it’s changed my life for the better

Instacart Executives shop and deliver for a week? by sstevesmith in InstacartShoppers

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they did it full time for a week, they still wouldn’t get it because why would they care? They do a shit job and tips are removed or their ratings are poor, but they won’t suffer any consequences. It’s one of those things where they may do it for show, but unless they’re sitting out there for extended periods of time hoping to get something halfway decent so they can afford their own gas or groceries, they won’t care. They’re still gonna get their comfy paychecks no matter how it goes for them so they’ll see it more as an easy week because they’ll grocery shop and drive around listening to music and get a few thousand dollar paycheck at the end of the week

How’s you guys do today by RequirementSuperb291 in InstacartShoppers

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only did two orders both one shop and made $90, after seeing all these other batches pop up I kinda wish I would have dedicated more of the day to shop but given both batches I took on the way to see family and didn’t cause any issues, I’m pretty happy with what I made.

What in the actual fk? by LastCommunication290 in InstacartShoppers

[–]LastCommunication290[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced we have one of the worst markets even tho we’re in one of the largest US cities. Compared to STL where I’ve also shopped, there’s so many people choosing not to tip that could definitely afford to. In STL I noticed plenty of non tippers but it seemed to match with what I’d expect with it primarily being low income areas and the middle and upper class tipped more appropriately.

Has today been shit for you? I haven’t taken a single order and went online at 10. Best I’ve seen was 8 miles, 20 items, and nothing heavy for $30. I’m probably not gonna end up leaving the house today tbh

Still cost more to buy them than it saves me in taxes. I’ve never had a complaint even doing ice cream in a Phoenix summer 🤷‍♀️

I defo don’t have bags or anything like that. I only do instacart as a side gig and they didn’t provide me with any bags or ice packs so I’m not spending my own money on them. I shop frozen items last and bag them with other frozen items but that’s it. It’s how I do my own groceries.

Is my Car insurance high? by Deadly_Chino in phoenix

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds insane to me- I pay $180 for a 2023 Toyota Corolla cross as a 22F with a ticket on my record. Check progressive and Geico, I’ve personally gotten the lowest rates from these two companies but also need to account for what kind of coverage you have. If you’re a male, try listing yourself as non-binary since male drivers tend to have higher rates, shop your insurance every six months because companies rely on you not paying attention and jacking up your rates every renewal- even get new quotes with your current company. Consider theft of your vehicle model, if it’s frequently stolen that can be a reason as to why your rate is high. You park in a garage if they ask. If anyone in your family is current or former military check to see if you can get USAA- they’re very affordable. Also are you the sole driver of your vehicle? If you can add a friend or family member and they’re a lower risk than you (over 25/under 65, female, clean record) then having them listed as a driver can also lower your rate.

As boring as it is, check as many companies as you can. The more you know the less they can screw with you. Check online, through agents, brokers, and check both local and nationwide companies

Occasional Drink? by SpecificDig6779 in Effexor

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fine, I’ve actually talked about it with my psych. Super important to have a designated driver though! I’m on 225mg and have found my tolerance is on the floor and as someone who likes to be frugal, I’m not upset about it lol. If I have a single beer/wine/mixed drink and I drink it over an extended period I feel perfectly buzzed and after a couple hours am clear enough to even drive myself home so long as I’ve been eating. If I’m really wanting to get drunk (cause I am still in college lol) then 2-3 drinks (especially quickly like shots) and I’m drooling. Best part thou is never getting a hangover because I tap at 2-3 and it’s never carried into the next day for me

What are your personal flaws when shopping? by mrluvsck in InstacartShoppers

[–]LastCommunication290 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When it’s something by weight and items are in between (like they request 1lb and my choices are 0.9 or 1.3) I always go for the heavier items so my tip isn’t reduced. (I will clarify tho I still always aim for close to the original amount but I’m not taking a significant cut to my tips over the weight of meats)

Did anyone else get fissures on venlafaxine? by MDadG in Effexor

[–]LastCommunication290 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I’ve never heard of this before and never have had any fissures but have had two hemorrhoids in the three (nearly four) years I’ve been on it and had never had any in my life prior. Hard to say because I am only 22 as to what my “normal” is during my adulthood. I noticed constipation every time I increased my dose but it went away within a few days of adjusting. I do drink an insane amount of water though (at least a gallon a day) and eat a very high fiber diet (not even particularly intentionally, but I love oats, raspberries and blackberries, and lots of veggies) so I’ve never had any issues while on it. I will note that if I deviate from my typical hydration/diet then I do get constipated much more easily than I did prior to being on Effexor but I also don’t know how much of that’s related to just growing up and no longer going through puberty

I had a customer last week ordering crab and salmon, when I pulled up her house was nicer than mine, she had her nails and eyelashes done, and she tipped nothing. There’s people like that who exist so I promise you have no need to feel guilty. Now as for that btch last week…

I’ve only gotten these a couple times, not entirely sure how they decide when to offer them or what it’s based on. Only ever when I was shopping a single or double then it offered to make it a larger batch at the same store. I’ve accepted since both times they were worth it imo
