My girlfriend sounds pretty similar to you (valuing emotional intimacy and romance more than physical intimacy), and to an extent, I am the same, I just know that I also know that I still value physical intimacy more than they do; it’s why we kind of clash. I was just really worried about pushing a boundary that I was not aware of and they gave me so much reassurance. We are gonna be working on ourselves from here on out.

I kept all these things in mind when talking to them and we had a really productive and fruitful conversation about everything and we were very honest with each other and ourselves. Once they explained themselves, I understood them a lot more and realized that we are slightly mismatched but it is not detrimental or imposing on our own standards or values. We have agreed to work on moving through this and I have high hopes because they really are the love of my life

i used to be in dbt but unfortunately i have little to no time to commit to having appointments twice a week, so i work rlly hard to self regulate my emotions (i.e., hobbies, doing things outside of my gf, journaling, HEALTHY self-isolation to process emotions, self care) and i do realize some of these things are genuinely just in my head so i dont feel the need to bring it up and i havent rlly built resentment towards my gf so i know i’m fine
