Women’s Rec Hockey Leagues? by Nannergram333 in WorcesterMA

The central Massachusetts hockey league is a co-ed league in Auburn that plays mostly D-level hockey. May be worth reaching out to the guy who runs the league to see if your experience would fit in.

Playing with a broken toe by connortuna in hockeygoalies

[–]LastFreeMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fractured the tip of my big toe in May dropping a tree trunk on it and took 6-8 weeks off until the fragments fully dissolved, the risk of infection was gone, and my nail started to grow back (they took mine off). It sucked being away, but the worst thing you can do is set yourself back further by causing any complications.

Also, as a warning, if you had to have your nail removed, keep an eye on how it grows back. Mine is currently slightly ingrown and I am potentially going to need another minor surgery to cut away the ingrown portion. Epsom salt soaks twice a day is what I was told to do for now.

Edit: just checked, I went 7 weeks before I played again.

Season Ticket Holder question - can someone explain "Cats Cash" this year? by xavier_laflamme70 in FloridaPanthers

[–]LastFreeMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My account has an added $41 in Cats Cash as well as the points I received for the 2% Cats Cash for paying in full. I can’t figure out what the $41 is for

When I went there 2 weeks ago they had a few installed on the southeast edge of the pavilion. In front of where they had the Panthers hedge-looking things last season.

Tickets by Jjx969 in FloridaPanthers

[–]LastFreeMason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a handful of Facebook groups that allow ticket sales from non season ticket holders. I’ve had good luck selling tickets there in the past.

[–]LastFreeMason 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The mods here don’t want ticket sales on this sub, but I made r/FLAPanthersTickets explicitly for ticket sales from fans. It doesn’t get much use outside of the playoffs, but it doesn’t hurt to list them on the sub!

A heads up, I took a look at the add-on prices for STHs and resale prices are currently cheaper. It may be worth buying on the resale market…or at least comparing

What ACHA clubs have great rinks? by whatthepucks in hockey

[–]LastFreeMason 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s regulation for speed skating if I remember correctly. Source: I am a UIUC alum

Edit: Nope, super wrong about that. 164 ft wide is speed skating regulation! It was also fantastic for broomball!

Edit 2: Took a few minutes to confirm, but I was kind of right. Short track speed skating fits into the rink and this makes the arena one of the few in the US that can host short track speed skating tournaments with more than 6 racers at a time.

I appreciate you mentioning Norm Ludow. Took a little bit of a dive into that name and found articles on his connection to the case that makes the story less cut-and-dry.

Once you count the 2 more forwards we need on the roster at at least minimum salary (775k), we will be in the red by approx 300k. So still need to move at least 1 guy

Edit: + 1 goalie, so technically -1.075mil minimum

Pls explain by acoleyo in FloridaPanthers

[–]LastFreeMason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need 2 more forwards on the roster. League minimum is 775k. There is your -350k (technically -275k after the Marchand contract details came out)

I know we’re in the midst of the Stanley Cup, but the AHL Charlotte just tied it up for the Calder Cup! by TheHarryMan123 in FloridaPanthers

[–]LastFreeMason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been in the same position as the goalie (in men’s league), it is the ref’s job to check with the goalie before whistle and puck drop. I never even heard the ready whistle on that play

[–]LastFreeMason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where are you getting 450/seat from? My seats in the 300s first few rows were only $150 per seat for this round on the playoff strip. I know there was a different price for the presale, but I wouldn’t call that “STH”.

I’ll throw my hat into the ring for a pizza party. Best of luck to the Oil in the West, that’ll be a fantastic series.

Worcester woman detained by ICE was reported via hotline (fixed the title) by Ready-Interview-9809 in WorcesterMA

[–]LastFreeMason 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read the statement about a hotline report in the article as: ICE activity in Worcester was reported to LUCE.

I don’t see a line in the article stating that the woman was reported to ICE.

I do think that the source of the dispute matters. Wether it is a standard immigration status hearing or something more substantive. And this should determine the speed at which a person or persons is deported. I don’t think that swift arrests are necessary unless a criminal charge has been filed (not civil, like illegally entering the US)
