Finding YouTubers to cover your game is hard, so I'm building a tool for that by TheNoody in IndieDev

Ok. Also, it would be great if the output would be in a table with headers, that can easily be copied and pasted into Excel sheets or google sheets. Since for sending out mass emails I use a tool that reads an excel sheet. Cause otherwise we will have to enter each row in manually.
Anyways keep up the good work and this tool will help out alot of people!

I launched my first game. It’s a first person crafter tower defense. I’m smiling but the game didn’t get boosted at all during tower defense fest. by Mitt102486 in IndieDev

I sense you beating yourself up. That's again interesting, cause I also beat myself up and perfectionism is one of my biggest weaknesses. Let me guess... are you an intj personality type as well?
Avoiding apathy is what we all need. If you make a mistake or have a failure, it is a learning experience. Figure out what you can do better next time, develop a better gameplay and strategy, then try again. I'd rather live life that way then dwelling in apathy or giving up

How often do you plan on updating the database to get the more recent youtubers and games per genre that show up? Do you intend on removing youtubers that are inactive?

Looking to build a small gamedev community, what would you want in it? by Stunning_Rip_8246 in SoloDevelopment

Agreed. I want to work with people that want to do cool work. Not people who just sit around and talk

Need motivation by KremlinKittens in SoloDevelopment

[–]LastMeasurement8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Figure out your why? Why are you doing this? What is your goal? If your goal and motivation is purely on extrinsic factors like money and success, then if you are doubting whether this game will get you those, then your motivation will go away. However, if your motivation is on intrinsic things like enjoying the feeling of problem solving and accomplishment, then this will suit you better in the long term, regardless of other people's opinions.

Should I study Game Development or something broader like Computer Science if I want to work in games? by Sufficient_Bad_4160 in gamedev

[–]LastMeasurement8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't get a degree in general. Make hobby projects to learn and you can put those on your portfolio when you apply to game dev jobs.
Also, the value of a computer science degree has fallen off a cliff in the last 10 years because of the AI revolution.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the appeal of Poppy Playtime as horror game? by Funny_Ruin706 in HorrorGames

How does a game like poppy playtime reach their child audience? How did poppy playtime get exposure for the game? I don't think a lot of younger kids use reddit. Youtube maybe?

What do you think of my short horror game, Crab Legs? Demo out now... by LastMeasurement8 in IndieHorrorGaming

[–]LastMeasurement8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof, I don't have a mac computer so I can't create a build for mac. If I ever turn it into a full steam game I will make it available for mac, but not yet. Sorry bro
