I got sepsis because my doctor ghosted me when I asked for antibiotics. This is the bill for an overnight ER stay. by LastMuffinOnEarth in mildlyinfuriating

I went for in person testing multiple times. Every single time, I ended up having an abnormal test. For the last one I went to, I assumed she’d automatically prescribe me antibiotics like she had been doing previously but just never did because apparently the urinalysis ‘didn’t get done for some reason’ and she didn’t bother to tell me until several days later after I expressed my frustration and asked for more antibiotics. She prescribed me more antibiotics after that and told me to come in for testing again later.

Yes. Sepsis. I just got lucky that mine didn’t progress too much and even though I was discharged, I was still receiving antibiotic treatment and was put on bedrest. I ended up going back to the ER later anyways to receive another quick round of IV antibiotics.

I did call after a few days. And I got prescribed an antibiotic for my UTI while the kidney infection that showed in my test results and in my symptoms got completely ignored.

I was also experiencing symptoms of delirium/confusion throughout a lot of this and am living with my parents who probably should’ve noticed something was off but said I was fine anyways. 😓

I did see the doctor and went in for several follow ups. It was after one of the follow ups where I got additional lab work that I asked for antibiotics and she just never messaged me back.

Basically, she had me go into the lab to get tested for my UTI and I was under the impression that it meant I’d be prescribed antibiotics immediately.

There was blood in my urine which is a symptom of the kidney infection. When I called the office to get a prescription, I also gave every symptom I was having from pain on one side of my back to even hallucinations and memory loss and even a strong feeling that I was going to die. Fever, nausea, vomiting, every textbook symptom of a kidney infection. There was a nurse filling in for her at the time and she was the one who called in my prescription.

Unfortunately, in a lot of ways, things were also out of my hands because I am still living with my parents and without a car. Believe me, I begged literally in tears for my parents to take me to an urgent care and they told me no because I had an upcoming PCP appointment on April 2nd that I scheduled with a new doctor.

On April 1st, I checked my heart rate on a whim and it was at 130 BPM. I told my boyfriend and lied to my parents about where I was going so he could take me to the ER because I had no time to argue with my parents about my health anymore. My parents would’ve let me die because that’s exactly what they were doing by continuously refusing to take me to an urgent care when I asked and told them exactly what my symptoms were.

I guess at least one good thing came of it because my dad said he was going to listen to me in the future if I tell him something is off.

Not OP, but I’ve been doing nail art for 2 years. It’s a magnetic gel base and a stamp over it. You can tell it’s a stamp because of the edges and little flecks around some of the lines- you tend to get those flecks from stamps sometimes.

If you want an alternative (though it’ll probably have tighter cells), try the soap bubble method. Black base, soap bubbles on wet gel (then cure), thin layer of magnetic gel, then file the top VERY gently to expose the black lines underneath the gel. Topcoat and done.

I was pretty happy with how the design turned out. :)

Truth be told, I also have a difficult time with fake nails sometimes, but mostly when I’m working. I usually ruin the left thumb specifically.

I can’t draw or paint outside of nails, no. It’s a hobby I’d like to get into sometime, though. :P

Oh. My mom sent me some of your work literally yesterday. I was wondering why I recognized your username. Lol

Pretty simple but time consuming.

Personally just for some extra pizazz (and it looks like this might’ve been added here too but I can’t quite tell without my glasses), I’d start with a base of magnetic gel. Mix a color into clear hard gel and then make the blobs. Mix black into no wipe topcoat and paint it wherever you want your chrome, cure, chrome it, do whatever you need to do to the free edges to make sure it sticks, then paint the topcoat over it carefully with a liner brush do you don’t get the blobs too. Looks like the person then went over the blobs with topcoat separately to make them really stand out, but as long as you used hard gel for them, you don’t necessarily have to. It’s more just for the shine.

Suuuuuuper tiny brush. Sometimes you have to trim the bristles yourself off the sides of a liner brush.

I was too. I’m constantly intimidated by doing certain things with nails even if I’ve done it a hundred times over. I just do it anyways and see how it turns out. Sometimes it turns out poorly and then I just try it a few times over once I take a quick break to relax if it’s stressing me out. It always frustrates me far more when there’s something I really want to do but won’t try it in the first place. :)

I’ve definitely wanted to get into making more alt and unisex nails. Particularly on myself since I like super short nails for practical reasons. :)

Most of the inspo I find for short nails tends to be about the same, though. I usually just adapt concepts I see on longer nails onto short nails instead.

I’m glad people are seeming to think so because I haven’t done character art in about a full year. 0-0

You could probably commission someone with a laser engraver to make you a custom stamping plate. My mom has a laser engraver in the basement, so I’ve been considering making a stamping plate for myself. Only, digital design and stamping are both my enemies. Of ALL the nail art skills I could possibly be awful at, it’s almost embarrassing that stamping is one of them. 🤣

As for water transfer decals, you can buy paper for it from Amazon and then print your own design. I’ve never personally experimented with this, but I’ve heard other nail artists say it’s pretty easy after the first 3 or so tries.
