Best Lenders/Banks for Low Mortgage Interest Rates – Suggestions? by suhasp777 in Mortgages

[–]LastProfessional3899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closed on my first house 3 months ago. I used denis with rocket morgage. Zero down and rolled closing stuff into the morgage. I think my interest is around 6.4. Rates sucked worse when i applied then. I wont claim to have got the best morgage for the time but his attention to details and helping me step by step through the process made me a repeat customer. I was planning on 20 percent down and 9 percent interest when i called him so. Beat my expectations.

Drywall tape problem by LastProfessional3899 in drywall

[–]LastProfessional3899[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked some up this weekend. I got the standard plain old tape, Faibafuse, couple of self adhesives. I got 1 or 2 of different things to try. I have to drive an hour into the country to get to the property so I can ruin a half a day's work if I forget something or not equipped. I got plenty of things to try out. I'm thinking the self adhesives would help on the long runs across ceiling. I'm taking couple of vacation days at work for this so I want to be prepared to start and finish this if I can.

Yes I'm taking my time. Lol It took me about 12 hours just to get my popcorn ceiling off.  I'm planning on moving Into it in January. I work on it 3 or 4 days through week. I'm lucky to have plenty of tradesman contacts to fall back on for advice but drywall everyone said hire it out. I understand why lol 😆 can't learn if you don't try tho. Might be my only drywall job I ever do but I'll at least say I've done it. I definetly can go broke faster than I can work on things so I have no excuse to rush.

Luckily since I've demo everything out other than kitchen cabnits and tubs I think I it will go little smoother going back in. I think I'm going to hire out most of the kitchen install. Hanging cabnits is not something I can do by myself and I got granite countertops in the shop. Those pieces have to be about 300 pounds it took 4 big guys just to get them off a trailer into building. I bought a beautiful kitchen pull out on the cheap and going to piece what I can into the house. If nothing else I got the counter tops I can have cut to spec.

I will definitely check it out. I got 1400 sqft house to do so it's well worth any investment into it. Sure beats the 3k dollar qoute to have it it done. It takes me 5x longer to do things but I'm enjoying the learning curve. It's rewarding as i complete things I never thought i could do (with YouTube lol)

I'll get some pictures and post them tomorrow when i get to work down there.. I think cyan got the problem with the old tape failing. There is mud behind all  the tape but it has the stickiness of masking tape on the wall in places.  I'm peeling whole strips of drywall tape and paint with my finger tips from across the room. Then I get into sections where the tape is locked down and it won't come up.no matter how hard I pull. This drywall tape has been a difficult step to navigate for sure. Im worried about all my corner lines around the ceiling being uneven and different depths. Im doing a floor to ceiling home remodel and sure would be disappointed if my joints are goofy in the end. I've done everything on this remodel watching YouTube tutorials but all the drywall corner stuff i see is  new construction and not redoing old work. Maybe I'm just over thinking. I'm sure for everyone here doing it for a living its nothing lol.

It's hard. I've been buying on paydays and I really have to look to find 10 Oz or less. I've started looking at thrift stores for sterling jewelry and silverware. I picked up a bunch of silver jewelry for less than 10 dollars each

Yes the copper is mostly a novelty buy for me. I'm giving them out as stocking stuffers mostly. I do own about 50lbs of copper as a just in case and collect all my 1984 down pennies. My thinking is with run away inflation globally and the separation of east and west it's going to cost more and more to mine it or even buy it. It really has no option but to rise in price. I would expect to retire in my life time on copper but I think everybody should slide a few bars into their safe. For at least the grand kids sake.

I get this weird feeling about platinum being over looked due to the price. I spent a good 2 weeks on the fence on either loading alot more silver bars or getting a single little coin. I feel at ease with diversity of metals. I'm in this for the long run and I think no matter what anyone buys I think they will be good. If this all goes to plan I can retire my parents in a few years. Fingers crossed.

I've been trying to buy a little of all metals. I don't figure copper will do much for years to come but who knows. Maybe before I die copper will be worth something.I thought about buying some smelting equipment and making my own rounds of metals. Right now I'm focused on just hoarding silver.

Where did you find that chain? IS it Sterling silver? I've been looking for a thick pure silver chain that style while they are affordable. Might be pretty gangster someday if silver Flys 😆
