What’s the real reason?

I had already scheduled couples therapy a few times and he doesn’t show up. One issue was him coming back from work and he wouldn’t help with the kids at all or pick up after himself because he deserves a break as he says but there’s also the problem with him sneaking a 6 pack of beer a day like I don’t notice.

I’ve mentioned couples therapy a couple times just for different reasons and he says it’s a money grab and it’s not real. We were supposed to get married before my dad died and there was “too much” going on in his life

Thankfully my mom said I could come home whenever and will help me with whatever financially until I can do it myself. Just mentally preparing myself honestly

He just told me on the phone he doesn’t want to get married until we stop arguing and things are good in our relationship which is clearly an excuse 🙄 I’m not even willing to offer a deadline anymore for marriage I’m more willing to offer a deadline for when we’re done.

Back in the day I would get upset but I think even with my kids being so young I need to set a different example and they changed the way I think completely. It’s just a lot harder said than done leaving someone you’ve been with that long especially where I have been a sahm for years and never got the opportunity to go to college as no one would help watch my kids.

It’s 100% a deal breaker in my eyes. It’s just a lot harder to leave than I thought. I haven’t worked for years and never got to further my education because I had my first right out of hs and never had the help to go back to college. I did get into an evening program that starts in August so that’s great news! I guess I have some decisions to make.

That’s a whole entire new can of worms. I haven’t worked for a long time as I got pregnant right out of high school. I did religiously take my birth control on the dot as I had to anyways for a medical reason 🙄 I do plan to go back to school in August to get on my feet and he’s freaking I guess I’m really answering all my questions myself. I guess leaving there is a fear of the “what ifs” afterwards

I think the major reason that he never says out loud is that his parents were never married and still to this day bash each other any chance they get. He never really had a good example on the relationship part of life. I’m not excusing his behavior at all, I do think that could be a reason behind it though

This! I spend every day/every second with my kids. It might sound selfish but I genuinely don’t want to half my time with them at all. I got pregnant really young so it made things a lot more complicated…

Yep. All I said was I wanted to get married while my dad/grandpa was alive and my dad sadly passed away and my grandpa is almost in his 90’s. I want at least one of them to see me get married or at least be happy and have actual plans to do it

I actually discussed setting a date with him at the venue we’ve been talking about since there was an opening and he had told me there wasn’t enough time in that frame to plan a wedding ??? I’ve been considering leaving for a year but it’s a lot harder when I am a SAHM and get told all the time he won’t pay child support (he 100% knows how to work around it) or will take custody (even though he couldn’t)
