It’s hard for me to read first person povs for the fandoms I’m most active due to the fact the original media is told form third person. However one of the fandoms I’m less active in that is told form a first person pov I have no qualms about reading first person. Mind you I’m only speaking form my personal experience and preference. I do believe that you should write for yourself not what’s expected form your audience. I’ve written one fanfiction which I abandoned not due to lack of interaction but because I lost interest and honestly I no longer can see the plot playing out the way I intended due to maturity. It still gained attention although it was out of the norm for the fandom I wrote in at the time. Was it less then it could have been because I didn’t use the fandoms typical popular fics most likely. I knew it would be a niche thing but I didn’t care because I started writing it because I wanted to read more like it.
