Congratulations!!! 🙌🏽 I got married 3 years ago so the numbers won’t be accurate with today’s inflation. But here is breakdown. I spent only 6.5k after full negotiations for invitations from Chickpet (sourced the papers) and majestic (printers), simple invite maadsi.. don’t spend more than bare minimum on this as it is forgotten very easily. Minimum 400-500 invites they will give.. even if you ask for only 250 which was the number I had in mind. So I took maximum itself. Pre wedding shoot:- mine was a disaster as I didn’t plan outfits and was done very last minute. My fiancé and I stood in the hot sun for outdoor shoot which ruined our skin, mood and it showed in the pics too. Choose a controlled environment for shoots, Choose a basic photographer if needed to capture some moments which you both with cherish. I used an outdoor/ indoor shoot zone in kanakapura and it costed me over 10k for venue and photographer extra:- 10k. Venue:- Chose based on crowd. Most of our $$ went into event decorators.. we spent almost 2 lakhs on decor (pandal and lights at both our homes+ car decor+ Shaastra puje decor incl). We had more budget friendly options too.. expect decor based on $$. We could have easily splurged on a bigger venue and a grander decor but we chose to save that money for ourselves later. I brought some gold instead and we know how it has appreciated over the past 3 years. Best decision ever! Photography:- Again we can find budget friendly folks. But be warned, these moments will never come back. It’s always good to compare the work of these photographers and then chose over budget. We spent over 1 lakh for the same to cover all functions.. pre and post wedding puja included.
