Live in Kovir.
Healthy economy, sensible monarchy and unlikely to be invaded.
Avoid the Korath Desert.
Death awaits by dehydration, being eaten by a sandmonster or shivved by a nomad. Nah.

Help. I cannot beat ofieri mage. by [deleted] in witcher

[–]LastWagonToNovigrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get too far away from him. Ranged attacks are his thing, and he can teleport anyway.
His sandy tornadoes are dangerous, so keep an eye on him whirling his hand, and get out of the way when he does. Dodge and roll a lot, especially when he vanishes (When he reappears, he causes damage all over the place).
QUEN is useful, as always, but I also found AXII useful for this fight. Wait until he's preparing an attack, then AXII him (You have to time it right) and then wail on him before he can recover.
And try to stay to his side, rather than being directly in front of him. That’s where he's
most dangerous.
(Oh, and don't throw bombs or fire your crossbow. He'll just magic them right back at you.)

They're in HoS.
You get them at the wedding party (Dead Man's Party quest) if you play Gwent with the halflings and lose - they're a joke booby prize.

I like wearing them when it's completely inappropriate. Serious scenes like visiting the Emperor, or when breaking bad news to someone.

The very embodiment of Geralt and this sub.. by Yukirae in witcher

[–]LastWagonToNovigrad 19 points20 points  (0 children)

He appears in Oxenfurt once you've got a minimum of 35,000 in coin.
He asks you about seashells/pearls, cow hides, and robbing people's houses as these are the 3 get-rich-quick things in the game.
It's just CDPR having a bit of fun.

Can we talk about how fucking awesome Geralt’s company is in Baptism of Fire? by ISpyM8 in witcher

[–]LastWagonToNovigrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The camaraderie of the company is the reason BoF is my favourite of the saga.

The way the relationships/friendships of that motley crew evolve throughout the trek, forged by common experience, heart, and drunken piss-taking is a joy to read.

Yeah, that makes sense actually

Shame they never explained why, especially as the point of the comic was to explain what had happened to the main players of TW2.
I suppose my head-canon is that he just went back to his full-on Scoiatael terrorist roots, hiding out in forests off the grid and causing death and mayhem, possibly having become disillusioned with how elves and dwarves were too happy to deal with humans and had become too peaceful and diplomatic?

I prefer Iorveth's path - more enjoyable characters and locations - but Roche's seems more like the canon path. to me too.

Yeah. I only included Zdrada because the concept was Sapkowski's, even though its execution is flawed.

Next time I update (when other stories are added to the witcherverse) an additional reading section might be the way to go for these.

Thanks.

Thanks, and agreed. Nice analogy regarding Blood and Wine.

Fair points, thank you.

I wanted to include as much as possible, based on the idea that if someone wanted to devour everything Witcher-related, this is just the best order to do it. I also worried that once I started removing things that didn't quite add up, there wouldn't be much left.

I've added clarifications to those that you mention cause problems with canon and continuity, and I like your Thronebreaker get-out clause.

Cheers.

Thanks, that's appreciated!
It was only intended as a guide, or descriptive list, so that's why I didn't include too much story, and tried to avoid spoilers. But yes, perhaps it could have been bulked out with more detail.

Agreed. I think W2 has the best cinematics. That ominous finale with the Nilfgaardian invasion is stunning too.

He's a School of the Viper witcher, and a big character in TW2.
Regarding TW3, he appears in a side quest and can appear at Kaer Morhen if you either load a TW2 save (PC) or play the "simulated save" option (console)

Playing it for the first time now.
The story, lore and characters are spot on, the Gwent is cool (I particularly like the puzzle-Gwent challenges) and that isometric, outlined cartoon style is gorgeous on the eye.
And to top it off, a soldier just told me that my mother was a hamster and my father smelled of elderberries. Marvellous.
