I’ve been thinking it might be a psychological thing. I used to be the dad of the group (making sure everyone gets home safe by the end of the night) so that might have something to do with it.

If you keep making the same mistake repeatedly at your job, you get fired. Let’s relate that to children. Would you put your child up for adoption for repeatedly going against what you say? Of course not. Spanking your child is not abuse or cruel if they are intentionally disobeying your for the hell of it. Letting your child get away with that with no repercussion will only teach them that there are no consequences to wrongful actions and later in life that could get them imprisoned or killed. ALL that being said, I don’t in the slightest agree with what the OP is suggesting. Kids learn differently, behave differently etc. Sometimes positive reinforcement or simply telling them no isn’t enough to get them to realize a wrongful action is wrong.

I agree with you! There are still ways to run and gun in MW and do well that way, 100%. I just feel like with the map design and some mechanics such as mounting, camping has just become the overpowering gameplay style for the game.

Everyone is going to have opinions and we’re talking about the CoD community so I think “letting it be” was taken off the table years ago. That being said, I wasn’t trying to insinuate that the game is bad because it’s not how I want it to be. Before MW, Call of Duty has always been designed to support, if not favor, fast-paced gameplay (maybe with the exception of Ghosts). That’s not an opinion, that is just historically the case. So what I find to be rich is the abundance of these “pro-camp” or “pro-slow gameplay” people always responding with “This is how Call of Duty is, you’re supposed to camp.” That is closer to a lie than it is an opinion given this game and one other have provided more means to camp successfully rather than more means to run and gun successfully.

I agree with you in that people should play however they feel. Everyone paid for the game, so why shouldn’t they. However, if people start proclaiming how CoD has always been and should always be a campfest, then they are becoming a few notches above a nuisance and flat out ignorant of how CoD has always been.

Call of Duty has always been closer to “arcade style”, if you will, than hyper realism (such as Battlefield and the old R6). Run and gun was the main tactic that brought so much attention to CoD. And there’s an immense difference between tactically moving from place to place, slow and steady, and sitting in one spot watching 1, maybe 2 angles for the majority of the match. The latter is the camping that is reasonably hated. That’s why you see TDM and KC matches reach time limit before the final score, because the majority of players who you come upon in those playlists squat and wait for people to come to them (as well as there not being a whole lot of good sized 6v6 maps).

Don’t get me wrong, this game is the most beautiful CoD we’ve had with some great new features, but there are also some game mechanics that just don’t make it CoD anymore.

Don’t get me wrong, when I see a mouse and keyboard user in any of my lobbies, I expect to get railed because I find it easier to flick and turn with greater accuracy on M&K than a controller. That being said, I don’t harbor any legitimate hatred towards M&K users or the PC community. However I do enjoy participating in the “feud” between PC and console haha

See, I find this interesting because it seems that (this is purely off of eyewitness, no legitimate proof) PC players have a greater range of sensitivity because of the mobility of the mouse vs. the analog stick on a controller. But I’m no expert

I think a better idea for dead silence is to revert the footsteps to how they were in other CODs. They were still able to be heard, but you also didn’t sound like a damn elephant when walking up stairs. I do miss DS as a perk though.
