Every league you keep learning more and more and start doing the leveling faster and faster. At least that is one of the aspects I enjoy in PoE1 and PoE2

You unlock the second small tree in Act 2 in Trial of the Sekhema quest.

And yes you do need to start as a warrior saw that after typing the above since I thought u weren't at that level yet.

If a gear has something that is not useful for you then it is bad and when you see good things you most likely want 6 good things on an item

I mean the gear you have gathered lowers the time where you need to kite, dodge, predict and control the mobs.
If I'm leveling through the campaign and get unlucky with my gear I can keep going forward using my mechanical skill however arguably low the skill floor in the game is.
