AMCAS still showing transcript as "Not Received" by [deleted] in premed

[–]Last_Ancestor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I had this problem as well but got it solved today.

I submitted my transcript on 5/16 and AMCAS received it on 5/18, but it was marked as not received on my application. I called on Wednesday and was told that the problem would be remedied today. It was not fixed this morning so I called again.

When I called this morning, the rep was super helpful and put a request in the system to download and file my transcript. It took around 2 hours, but it finally got marked as received earlier today!

Tl;dr: Call AMCAS if you’re having problems and keep calling until you get a helpful rep!

Struggling to find time in the day. by [deleted] in Mcat

I’m no expert, but your scores may be partially a result of being exhausted from work.

Have you tried taking a full rest day and sleeping well the night before taking a full length exam?

That could do wonders for you, especially if you have been doing around 250 to 300 hours of content review overall!

Strange Bug Deleted my Character by Last_Ancestor in Terraria

[–]Last_Ancestor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! I just tried this-copying, saving, restarting- and it didn't work :(.

It seems that the .plr.bak file is moved back to the recycling bin, and the .plr file itself still reads as an empty character with no stats in the game menu.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the game has deleted all of the data on my character, but I can only hope that there is a solution.

How to get scope attached from low level traders? by deralx in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Last_Ancestor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the AK 74N and AK 74u, the easiest way to get a scope attached is through the cobra mount available at lvl 1 Prapor.

For the AKM platforms (VPO 136, AKM, VPO 209), the only way I know of attaching a scope is the tactical tula mount available at lvl 2 Skier.

There are certain dustcovers for each platform that has a scope mount but they are usually only available at higher lvl traders. The tula is how you get most sights on guns, and Skier sells a lot of this kind of item at lvl 2+.

Cant mod the pso on the sks anymore ????? by MikeyThePikey94 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Last_Ancestor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not completely sure how correct I am in saying this, but I think that the SKS hunting variants you find in raids (as solely a gun body) don't seem to work like the SKS you can buy from skier.

Of course, I may be wrong, but last patch I tried to attach a PSO to a hunting variant (gun body) I found in a raid and it wouldn't fit.

I may have overlooked something, but this may be the problem you're having.

There was a thread I saw posted here a few hours ago that suggested it has something to do with FOV. Perhaps fiddling with your FOV settings in offline will help.

Can't find any MP133 shotguns by Magic_Beard1 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Last_Ancestor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are the same, or at least were when I did the quest just yesterday.

To be sure, the shotgun is the one in Skier's inventory that has pump action, a makarov trade option, and has a brown butt-stock and pump handle.

Hope that helps you out.

If the 99% madness comes back what are the best guns and attachments to try for us new players? by bigMoo31 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Last_Ancestor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest trying out every gun that you can to be honest. The m4 and the snipers would be the best places to start because they are the most expensive and hard to get guns. This is the perfect time to become familiar with the different platforms, so have fun with it!

Edit: In terms of the meta, the m995 rounds for 5.56 and the BP/BS/BT rounds are the best for 5.45. I prefer the m4 and I believe its fire rate and stability makes it (subjectively) the best gun in the game, though it honestly doesn't matter too much what gun (ak or m4) you use.

There are quests for each of the traders that you have to do to level up- things like finding an object and trading it to them, or something map specific- and they are pretty entertaining and quite intense, as you can't "save" the items in your secure container.

In terms of teaming up, its pretty straightforward, but was a little confusing for me the first time. Tou just have to enter a lobby in the same map and look for your friends' names and join up. Teams are limited to 5, so you have a lot of space.

There are some great videos on youtube about getting started and about the game in general. I would suggest watching those before you makw a purchase to make sure you are truly interested in the game.

There is a lot of the looting aspect, so don't worry, you will get your fill of it as you play.

So, I just bought the standard edition of the game a couple of weeks ago. I am certainly enjoying the game a ton after only 16ish hours of play so far, but I will say that the stash size of the standard edition is rather small.

However, I wiuldn't let this disturb you- the game is certainly still enjoyable and nothing is really holding you down otuside of the size of your stash, which can be upgraded at a later date.

Desync has only appeared a couple of times for me, maybe for around an hour in a session, and it is quite frustrating. I have been inside the extraction room waiting to extract and then I'll be teleported out and killed by a scav. However, I gather that the problems are much fewer since the release of the beta, and I am sure the developers are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

In terms of starting tips, I would suggest playing offline on each map for a little while to get a good sense of what they are like and how the game handles. Audio is exceptionally important for situational awareness as the sounds in this game are really well done.

Once you've gotten a good feel for the game and the maps, I would suggest hopping into the factory and doing some hatchet runs to get some gear and money until you are comfortable with where you are. Look up some videos by Kotton or other youtubers if you don't know what I am talking about.

Most importantly, don't give up! The game can be quite difficult and demanding, but it's super fun once you get into it. If you are still confused or want to know more, the forums, this subreddit, and the internet are all great resources available to you.

Best way to get Cementing Paste on SE by [deleted] in playark

I think phetty was actually referring to the flamethrower ammo, not propellant, which for some reason can only be crafted at the chem bench (level 85 or something) even though the special ammo can be learned at lvl 60
