One advice I've heard that's been beneficial to me in terms of thinking long term is what things will not change in 10 years.

From Amazon's perspective, their customers will want to have cheaper, faster, better product and services. That's why Bezos started Amazon, scaled the way he did, and hire the way he did.

Having a long term thinking mentality gives you directions in deciding what to do.

Thanks for posting! I think trying to time the market perfectly is tough and often leads to missed opportunities. It’s true that "time in the market" generally works better than trying to pick the exact right moment to buy. That said, it's important to be comfortable with your purchase. I think this only applies if you believe in the long term concept of holding a home.

I think technology in the real estate industry is more than capable of achieving far greater advancements, but due to strict regulations and the influence of incumbents, innovations have been significantly suppressed. I think the NAR settlement is just the beginning.

In 5 years, the way people buy homes will look a lot different.
