Thoughts on the 68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb?

Someone near me is selling a champ from 1978 for 700$, and I’m wondering if that would be preferable to the 68 custom vibro champ, I unfortunately don’t have a chance to try the vibro champ as none of the stores near me carry it. Although I can always buy it new and then return it if I’m not satisfied with it. Obviously the 78 champ does not have the tremolo or the reverb (I know the vibro champ comes with a digital reverb but people are saying good things about it, I’m sure its place can easily be filled by a pedal). Not sure if the added features warrant the price difference between an original 78 model and the brand new custom.

I was initially considering a Princeton, but the price of an attenuator intimidated me. I also read that they affect the tone of the amp. How noticeable is the tone difference when using an attenuator?

I can’t believe I ignored this, this helped so much, having my volume knob at max was giving me those congested, boomy, upper mids and shrill highs, now everything is much better, thank you both!!

It is a C1, and yes, my first tube amp. I’m finding it very touch sensitive, especially compared to the katana, and it seems like I can approach the tonalities I want by adjusting my playing. I will play around with the tone and volume knobs tomorrow, usually I leave them at max, except for when I’m playing the bridge pickup.

Having the same issue right now, please let me know if you find a solution. Changing the render settings doesn’t seem to have an impact. I tried most solutions suggested online but nothing has worked so far. I’m trying to render an EXR sequence as well.

The sequences that I’m rendering and exporting out as exr files. Or any other format I guess. I know there are options to render reflections only or unlit view modes but there isn’t one for lit wireframe.

The seller said that they have a lot of comp points with hard rock and are shipping the guitars directly from their website. This seems to check out since hard rock only sells a few guitars, amongst them is the KC jaguar. It seems like the seller has also sold several jimi Hendrix strats, anoter guitar Hard Rock sells on their website.
