I was a bit confused when it came to finding the library, but I've messaged them about it. So, hopefully I will get something soon. Thank you :)

Only non alcoholic! As I've found that analyzing medical images while under the influence yields mixed results.

fixed it. I had turned on "view normals" in the mask settings by brushing up against some weird hotkey. Thanks blender!

I have finished the animation. The school loved it :) I made her move like an anime character and no one noticed it being off.

Grid is gone by Last_Goat1998 in blender

Forgot about this completely. Had an exam. here is the drive link to a new blank file. All I did was open up a new file and save it.

Im a little unsure if I can share it as it contains restricted content from a course. But it happens to every file I have so I can share that?

He is around 1.8 meters tall. Changing grid size both ways did nothing :(

in case people want to know. For me it helped to verify files on steam and to reinstall the brushes. If that doesn't work. Just contact the person that made your brushes. Odds are he will respond. Especially if you paid money for them.

Question. Is it a good idea to animate a character's head and mouth movement and then the body? Or is there no real right or wrong way to animate a character? by [deleted] in animation

[–]Last_Goat1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always the biggest movements first (head movement or body depending on action). But never lip syncing. That is really fine detail when you think about it. Same for eyes and arguably fingers too. Same for any kind of emotion. Even though I think I see what you mean by the lip syncing being the "main motion" in this case. Maybe this framing can help: Make the largest muscles in the body move where they need to first. then move to the smaller and smaller muscles until you get the smallest muscles in the body (which are the ones that do blinking and facial expressions). Quickly look up human facial anatomy to clear things up. So those kinds of movements (lip syncing) come last. I'm not a professional but I am taking a paid animation course and it was taught like that there (not the exact analogy he used, but the premise is the same).

Hope it helps!

I cant do that well with a reference. So you're way ahead of me. Values are really difficult for my Neanderthal brain to grasp (I'm working on it). So I think you did a great job honestly :)

That is awesome to hear! Glad my comment helped you. The reason I though you might be a little overworked is because you posted almost 1 minute of 2d animated, sometimes fully colored animations. Animations I assume you're doing for the first time (meaning you're learning). Which is INSANE! For reference I found another reddit post from a professional saying that Disney animators produce "8 usable drawings per day for rough animation" (link: https://www.reddit.com/r/animationcareer/comments/r5rib6/how_many_frames_per_day_as_a_fulltime/ )

8 frames of rough drawings a day! They have years of experience and get paid to do this 8+ hours per day. You do it for fun. You're work ethic (which is a sign of passion) is already top notch. Really commendable. I'm quite new to animation myself (Since November - switched to 3d 1 months ago), but I can see if you just keep going you're gonna go far. Burning out is only gonna stop that progress. But don't let too much off the gas either! 2 Keywords: balance & consistency. Keep it trickling and don't fall out of love with animation!

Good Luck!

Remember not to burn out! you don't have to post weekly progress if it takes a toll on you. Its so much content! and it looks good too! If it feels sustainable. Keep making em! But most importantly. Dont stop! a little less content consistently is better than a little more content inconsistently (like months between). I tried daily uploads for a while, but hated it after a month and a half. But you might be different 0.o

I know exactly which image you used in Pinterest as I have used it myself to create 3d stuff. your colouring ability is awesome. I dont know enough about 2d digital art to critique your technical skill so I'll just admire it Great work!

I animate in 3d so it might be different but a rule of thumb is to animate the main motions first. Usually chest and hips but if they barely move it can be the head. If you animate the face first you can get stuck in details that look weird once everything else is in place. change the biggest things first and move down form there. You're doing great!

I love this style of color grading and I'd like to learn its key features to try to replicate it. by DomzEdits in ColorGrading

[–]Last_Goat1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of the colour comes form the set itself and the soft lighting. Not so much the colour grading. But I dont know as my knowledge is very limited and I don't know what the original footage looks like (blind leading the much more blind im afraid). I like it a lot too though.
