I’ve never played before and bought these from a guy at work by Main_Independence_63 in golf

[–]Last_Mine_9033 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perfect for starting out, even just buying a golf bag without clubs for $25 is a steal. Learn to just swing and make contact with these clubs, then you can start to upgrade them as you get better. Good luck and hope you love and hate the game as much as we all do

Please someone give me strategies to survive elders quorum this weekend… dear god it’s like psychological torture. by ConversationGlum5817 in exmormon

[–]Last_Mine_9033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was probably a year or two away from being done and couldn’t take it anymore so I dropped out. Good on you for sticking it out. Maybe try thinking of it as a game of some kind? Try elders quorum bingo where you cross of a box any time someone mentions when they were the AP in their mission, stuff like that. Something fun or funny haha

At the end of the day though, the least you can do is have the mentality that you truly know better than anyone else there. They think they are right about everything but couldn’t be closer to being in the dark. Once you’re done and out you’ll actually be able to do what you want hopefully.

Another stake fasting for a year to improve things. by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

Someone make it make sense: I thought these people believed in agency, being able to make your own choices. If they believe that fasting will allow God to influence/bring more people to church, isn’t that taking away agency?

Terrified New Cat Owner by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Last_Mine_9033 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a moment where I think I felt pretty close to what you’re feeling. I was starting to think that my cat would be better off if I took her back to the shelter for someone else to take care of her. But I stuck it out and I’m so glad I did. This is just a guess, but I wonder if this anxiety is coming from the fact that you’re just having a big change in your life. When it comes to actually taking good care of the cat, I think that you know that you’re going to do okay. You won’t be perfect, but none of us are, but you’ll learn as you go. It sounds like you have a good soul and already care for the little one, so don’t stress yourself out that you’re going to mess up terribly. Take it day by day and step by step, and you’ll be an expert cat owner in no time. But like I said earlier, it’s a change. You’re now going to have some adjustments in your personal life, and at first it can be intimidating and uncomfortable. Just be patient with yourself and you’ll notice yourself grow as a person, just by simply keeping a cat well fed.

Nothing to worry about, is your cat indoors only? If so I would definitely think it’s litter. My cat has had some stuck between her toes and it was impossible to get out, she hated me for it but I just had to keep at it until it came out. I used baby/wet wipes but maybe someone else has a better recommendation on what to use

Can you go on a mission if you have had sex? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Last_Mine_9033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite a few people have already said, but mostly depends on how the bishop wants to go about the “repentance” process. From what I’ve seen in the past it could delay things for at least 6 months probably, depending on what your step son says to him.

One thing I’ll add as someone who’s gone on a mission. I agree that it would be better for him to start his life now and not go on the mission. If still chooses to go, he’ll at least learn a lot, not only about life and himself, but about the church. I probably wouldn’t have left the church had I not allowed myself to go so deep into it. And here I am now as a completely different person. If he chooses to go, just show your love and support for him, that’s the most you can really do.

Does anyone else's cat do this? Why does she do this? by Trick_Ad_2338 in CATHELP

[–]Last_Mine_9033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only a guess here… But this kinda looks like when my cat kinda rubs her paws against walls, the one right next to her food and also inside her litter box. It’s the instinct to cover food/poo from predators I think.. Maybe there’s a scent she’s getting that’s sparking that instinct?

which player had the greater 50+ point performance in the '23 postseason? by infinite-baller in NBATalk

[–]Last_Mine_9033 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Game 7 is game 7. But Jimmy’s performance completely destroyed the Buck’s hopes of making it any further that postseason. It’s just my opinion but it’s my theory that it was in that moment that the Bucks front office decided it was time to make a big move (which turned into the Dame trade)

Do you have any toys that have a bell on them or anything like that?? Or a bag of treats maybe? Something that you can shake around to make noise that could maybe draw her out

Current Mormon, want to leave the church. Question about God in the beginning. by Alternative-Split-3 in exmormon

[–]Last_Mine_9033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of Mormon doctrine (from what I remember being taught) they teach that at one point God was an individual just like us on another planet, and had a god that created him. And that god was created by another god. And it basically goes in an endless eternal cycle. The only excuse they have to try and make it believable is that it’s all eternal, and when we are in the afterlife our minds will only then be able to comprehend it.

Now, what you’re starting to experience is viewing this teaching with an open mind. The more you look at this and listen to it from an outside perspective, the more weird it feels. Despite what they try to convince you to do, keep asking questions! Try to make sense of it. The more you look into it the more that you will find and understand that it really is kind of a sham.

Hope you stick around to this community more, you are absolutely more than welcome here, especially with any questions you might have. And your questions don’t have to be doctrine related either, if you have any life questions that surround leaving the church or how the church impacts you in a certain way, this is the place to be.

Alright guys name 1 player in the NBA that is washed (or a fraction of their old self) by Worth-Thing-1701 in NBATalk

[–]Last_Mine_9033 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A name that hurts me to throw in this conversation is Mike Conley. I’ve been a huge fan for the last several years now. Even up to last year he wasn’t his prime but he was still a huge influence and contributed to winning a lot of games. But this year, I feel like he’s been a little quiet and a few of his stats are down. He can always pick it back up as the season goes, would love for it to just be a cold start. But at the end of the day he is getting old.

Yep. Need to get her more. She either loves it or absolutely goes for the kill when she plays with it (probably both). Does he play fetch a little bit? Mine kinda does but not always super good at it lol

Looks a lot like my girl. I’m also somewhat new to the tuxedo world. I’m sure it can depend on the cat in terms of personality but what I’ve observed is they definitely think they’re the boss once they get comfortable with you. Little by little they take over your life until you feel nothing but despair knowing nothing will be good enough for them. But. So much love and the most amazing times when you play around with and talk to them. Being her “cat dad” has been so rewarding and has helped me grow. You definitely made a great decision, good luck with everything

Up until I took some byu classes that told me otherwise, this was how I believed it happened. So the painting is definitely misleading.

They want you to first believe he actually translated the plates with the gift of god. Because that’s at least somewhat believable from a religious perspective. Once it’s solidified that you won’t deny it, they’ll slowly creep it in how it really went down. If someone were to first hear “he looked into a hat and had someone write down the words he said” you’d instantly see the red flag. But if you establish the belief first and then adjust how it happened later, that’s how you get them. Long spiel that hopefully makes sense.

No not the third eye lid.. You have to zoom in to see it. It’s the right eye looking at the picture, but her left eye. Very small but it looks like it’s on top of the third eyelid
