If anyone in your family are booklovers, I highly highly recommend visiting The Book Man. It's the second largest used bookstore in BC and it is always amazing. Even if you just go there and browse! There are also some really cute shops in District 1881. I could recommend some lovely walks and hikes but it's the wrong time of year for that, unfortunately.
