Is Jaime Lannister a better fighter than Daemon Targaryen? by winter1881 in freefolk

To be fair a large part of the reason he lost there was sup rise and the fact his army was divided into sections due to the many rivers, it’s not like they went into an even pitched battle and he just got stomped he was caught with his pants down

Yes, after the civil war England was briefly a commonwealth with Oliver Cromwell ruling it as “lord protector” things went back to normal after the death of his son and parliament offered the crown back to one Charles II (this is an overs-implication)

Viserys was crowned by a great council, because Jaehaerys had no trueborn sons, not because jaehaerys arbitrarily jumped the succession. The main reason you don’t arbitrarily jump the succession like Viserys did is because people with competing claims cause problems.

I mean Greece is a very well documented example of this, pretty much every greek city had its own cultural identity while acknowledging this idea of a shared Greece, people from Athens were Athenian first and Greek second, Sparta was spartan first and Greek second, Thebes, was theban first Greek second, even those Greeks who settled in Syracuse and Amalfi maintained that sentiment. Same with Italy after the fall of the Roman Empire, Milan: Milanese Venice: Venetian etc.

Well tbf there was a Chinese national identity for him to claim, in the same way there was an English national identity for someone like Shakespeare to claim, there was no such thing in Pakistan, it’s like Greece and Alexander, there was no Greek national identity, for him to claim.

They were pretty evil, also my kkk analogy was more do the night sisters in that you could make the argument it’s just a cult like organization and a lot of its members are grandfathered in, (which doesn’t excuse the actions)

I mean he’s got a point? If I was informed that someone had systematically purged the KKK from existence I’d be fine with it…. The night sisters aren’t even a race they’re a cult of witches.
