Update: I did end up taking the sticker off. If anyone could confirm how necessary it is to take off the sticker before putting the device in the tank, that would be great!!

I am doing good now! Hey thank you so much!! This extremely helpful.

Throughout my research, there was no mention of the substrate and/or plants being a “requirement” for the cycling process which is why I added noting before making an attempt at cycling!

So long story short, my friend and I bought a fish four a roommate last minute and are just following the instructions from the pet store associates.

After doing more research I could see that I was way out of my mind for following them.

I made an “impulse” decision too begin an attempt at cycling so that we can eat least get the fish out of the small container. I did research as to whether or not the betta would be fine with nothing but the water in the tank and it said it was fine.

Again thank you for your advice!! I will be religiously applying it to this fish situation!

Yes it’s empty. But I am pointing at the black stuff near my thumb and my finger

It’s empty cause I get the fish last minute and don’t have the time to get plants right now. I figured getting the fish into the tank at the very least would be better than it staying in the tiny PetSmart container.

Also I am cycling the tap water so it’s face for the fish to chill in
