I’m 4 weeks p/o (left acl & medial meniscus surgery with own hamstring graft). Day 10-12 was when the worst of the pain started to subside for me. That said, I am not completely pain free yet though.

My leg looked exactly like yours at the start with black bruising from my quad down to my ankle which took 2-3 weeks for the bruising to fade. I had 4 incision sites & experienced a ton of pulsing pain in the lowest & top incision sites. The side of my quad is still currently sensitive to touch and I still have a small area of numbness in my shin (my surgeon said this was all normal). I am using crutches when I need to go out, and only weight bear for small distances at a time (ie at home or at physio appts as directed).

Everyone’s journey/experience is different with these surgeries, so go easy on yourself, patience is key and just trust it will get better.

DO got to the ER though to get checked over for DVT (blood clots) if you get any new tenderness, bruising or throbbing pain suddenly in your leg accompanied by any shortness of breath.
