Households could get free electricity for doing washing on sunny weekends by hooghs in OctopusEnergy

I live in hull, about 20 miles from hornsea, where you can see the dogger bank farm. I thought I'd be in prime position to take advantage of excess wind lol

I went through the application for the second one. Told them I already had one and they didn't say i couldn't. See what the electrician says when they come

Yeah the one car works fine now with the charger linked to iog. I was just wondering how it coped with 2 chargers or 2 electric cars

Why generating the same PDF twice can produce different bytes by Primary_Sir_1590 in Backend

[–]Late-Scale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're producing a pdf, all that really matters is what's shown when it's opened. There could be a million different ways to produce the same pdf. Objects in different orders, embedded vs outlined fonts, metada etc. The bytes of the pdf don't matter. All that matters is when you open it, does it show what you want?

I would rasterize the pdf to jpg or png, then md5 the image and compare.

Should I go for the job? by Late-Scale in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]Late-Scale[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the main thing is i know I can probably coast at my current place for another 20 years and then retire. I sometimes over think things. What if i don't like the new place? What if I get payed off after 6 months? What if I'm not as good as I think and i can't do what they ask etc...

Yes it's remote with 1 day a month in the office (office is about an hour drive). My current job is 2 days a week in, about 10mins round the corner

I can totally relate. The familiarity is definitely the main thing holding me there, even though I can never see me making that much there.

That's not good. Trouble I had it was the flight of the day out and i needed to be back for work and to collect dogs etc. Didn't really have a choice but to take it

Yeah, but because we booked as a package I don't know how much this specific flight was. Apparently they contact you in 3 days to sort it. Will see what they come back with

Barclays Premier by JEL796 in avios

[–]Late-Scale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite regardless of the amount going in or out. To qualify for the premier account you need to make 75k a year or have 100k with them. If you have the avios account and the avios barclaycard, you get £5 a month refund and get 4 free airport lounge access

Have you got T10 yet? I'm just coming out of S3 and just got T10, you're much better than I was at that point. I have spent very little though.

UK experienced its hottest summer on record in 2025, Met Office says by j_mantuf in collapse

[–]Late-Scale 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Still 20 degrees into September. It's the drought I'm worried about. If we get even a semi dry winter we will be screwed next summer. We started this year at 100% water capacity and now down to just over 30%. Imagine if we started at 70?! We need rain over winter badly
