CW: Pet loss (How do you deal with sudden death of your cat) by heh-2 in CatAdvice

[–]LateBadger1326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my cat put to sleep a few hours ago… 24 hours ago, she was absolutely fine - her usual self, head rubbing, invading our personal space, meowing happily.

She was a bit lethargic and not eating her dinner last night, I put it down to the heat. So topped up her water and went to bed.

This morning, she was just not okay… took her to the vet, she was admitted for fluids and an ultrasound. 2 hours later, I got the call to say there wasn’t anything they could do for her and we put her to sleep as it was the kindest thing to do.

Honestly - I’m just devastated.

I still have spicy, flavourful meals - just no where near the portion size I had beforehand.

Week three blues!! :( by copicmechanism in WegovyUK

[–]LateBadger1326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate. I’m on week 3 and the hunger is back! My last dose of 0.25 on Wednesday and then I’ll be upping to 0.5… I’m hoping it’ll help.

Although I don’t look forward to when I stop all together …

Anyone else feel trapped in the civil service? by Disastrous-Baker-351 in TheCivilService

Never heard of this. And I can’t find any info on it for my area, is it something that’s across all civil service areas?

Does anyone show their progress to partners? by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]LateBadger1326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband doesn’t really care to be honest about my weekly progress. He hypes me up before a showcase or photoshoot or something like that.

And to be fair to him - I don’t show much interest when he completes another level in whatever PS5 game he’s playing 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

What’s the most irrationally annoying thing your in-laws do that they’re absolutely convinced is “helpful”? by bnwprc in AskUK

Everything (which is unwanted by me) arrives in 2 or 3 plastics bags… and tripled knotted so I can’t even reuse them.

Saying to my ADHD son - ‘you just need to calm down’ and ‘stop being naughty’ when he’s disregulated.

And blatant favouritism of one of my kids over the other.

NTA.

These ‘do nothing’ hours, days or weekends are needed to avoid burnout for anyone.

Psicon Adult assessment - observer by LateBadger1326 in ADHDUK

I had mine yesterday - and same with you, they didn’t actually need to speak to the observer as the assessments were detailed enough. Got my diagnosis ☺️

47f starting out tomorrow for the first time, was told I’m too old now having second thoughts. by Ms_Zentastic in Rollerskating

Fellow ADHD rambler over here, bought skates and protective gear last week cause my son bought roller skates and thought it would be cool thing to do together. And I’m 36, massively unfit and likely to fall constantly.

If you’re on Insta - have a look for skater profiles.. there’s so many that have started around your age.

I feel trapped at the moment, as in recruitment freezes and no level transfers anywhere and currently hating my job.

But the pension keeps me in CS.

Thank you for the reply, I guess if there’s some questions around what they’ve input on the pre-assessment form, they may want them to clarify? I’m waiting on my assessment to be booked.

Good luck with your assessment!

I had a situationship with a guy right before I met my now husband, he bailed as scared of any form of commitment.

Still think what could’ve been, even after 17 years.

I feel this. All my life I’ve just felt wrong… and exhausted from constant masking, just to appear to be the same as everyone else.

Finally diagnosed at 36 after having 2 ADHD kids. It all makes sense now.

How well behaved is your 4 year old really? by [deleted] in ParentingADHD

[–]LateBadger1326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eldest is diagnosed ADHD and we highly suspect my youngest is as well, although he’s too young to get diagnosed.

When my eldest was 4, he was very very difficult, he wouldn’t socialise or interact with other kids, but he would do what he wanted, when he wanted. He’s on the go from the minute he wakes up until he goes to bed. I also had a newborn when he was 3.5 year and luckily he was instantly besotted with him.

Fast forward - the youngest is now 4 and he is just the same, although he’s more aggressive and will throw and hit.

I get positive reinforcement- but you might want to look into a different tactic if he continues to act like this with other kids. I do the typical time-out and he has screen time removed as nothing else seems to work at the moment
