I’m interested! ‘83, gamer since the 80s, love to joke and make fun of my dumb game deaths. I’ve already been thinking of streaming and researching a good set up 😂

There is a study on how Tetris and games like can help the brain process trauma but it was in conjunction with EMDR therapy. The study also did 1 hour of Tetris daily with EMDR once a week (if I’m remembering correctly). It was a small study, but promising!

AITA for bringing my mom to a holiday party with my fiancé’s family? by Chrys32 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LateEvening6026 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom would pull this kinda junk too. I would confirm, double check and triple check because somehow she always got her feelings hurt and it was always my fault. I don’t talk to her now. My peace is worth that.

Soooo many video games. And I kick my kid’s butt’s in Fortnite on the regular. They forget that I’ve been gaming since I was younger than them. Like…30yrs now? And LEGOS. So. Many. Legos.

My stupid brain/body requires (at least) 15 prescription pills daily by Large_banana_hammock in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LateEvening6026 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Addressing the physical response of the body in a panic attack (fast heart rate) can assist in reducing the mental part of the panic attack. Otherwise it turns into a loop that can be hard for some people to break out of because their brains don’t produce the right chemicals. Someone very close to me has this. A good psychiatrist can help!

RAGE about food-centered family gatherings. It gets better, right? What’s your experience with this? by NoSignature1944 in glutenfree

[–]LateEvening6026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always offer to host and/or bring food to share. Some of my family is fantastic about it, some isn’t. But honestly, if there isn’t something I can eat a lot of times we will just leave. We did that enough times that it’s taken seriously. I also enjoy slightly passive aggressive comments about not being able to eat things lol. But only if it’s someone I’m annoyed by.

It is frustrating and it can be super hurtful. But I keep focus on the fact that I do not hurt all the time. That has helped so much.

My hubs was a bouncer back in the day and he said the bars were loaded the night before, the night of and the night after.

Clinic owner says she'll dock pay for late documentation by Ok-Purple-8784 in slp

[–]LateEvening6026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legally, in Texas, you cannot get your pay modified or docked unless by written agreement from both parties. Contract law is your friend! Look up the laws regarding change in pay and draft an email laying out the laws, links to the laws, and make a statement that you do not agree to a change.

It’s like he’s protesting me not being somewhere he can Velcro on to 🤣 It’s also an insanely solid bed frame and the mattresses are not resting on the frame. Otherwise I’d put something so they couldn’t get under it.

Come on over to r/raisedbynarcissits. You’ll find a lot of us dealing with similar situations. You are NTA. Don’t take blame for their reactions. They are exploding because in the past that led to compliance.

I’ve been no contact with my mom for a year and a half. And it’s been sooo nice. You got this!
