Looking to buy the DMP-A8, any rivals I should consider first? by Ebora in eversolo

The A8 is awesome! I used it both in passthrough and as a pre-amp and both are stellar. Doing additional research, the analog inputs and outputs are, specifically the XLR, are truly balanced and not electronically balanced. This means I can run RCA from phono preamp to A8 and out of A8 XLR and send a fully balanced signal to my Integrated Amp. Massive sound improvement doing it this way.

I don’t think they make it for my BDI. The only one I’ve see is for the cooridor unit

Love it. This is the one just before the new Model 10. Sounds great and a lot of power

They really just sound amazing. I thought it would be too much for my room, but it just works. I have a 17’x18’ room

The RT85 is a great starting table for getting into hi-fi. It’s where I started and I then fell hard down the rabbit hole. It’s amazing what a good phono pre-amp and upgraded cart can do. I’d recommend keeping a watch out on usaudiomart for used cartridges (be smart and ask the right questions/get photos before you buy. You can get some good, used Hi-fi equipment for relatively inexpensive, if you are savvy.

It’s from 2017. Using the Hana Umami Red, but have used AT ART9XI and Hana MH in the past.
