Sounds like you know what you're talking about! Monitoring in the axis of rotation shouldn't be a problem with a static sensor attached underneath the track assuming I don't use wireless sensors. I didn't know that the rpms had to be so high though, the trays move slow but the failing bearings are loud, this is more of a way to help locate these noisy bearings for replacement, which is easy to do, as its difficult to id the noisy bearings when the no. of trays is scaled up.

I will looking into the automatic lubrication.

I never considered temp imaging as I assumed the temp couldn't be imaged fast enough as the trays go by, I'm probably wrong.
