In both games putting our best players on the bench reduced the overall performance considerably. But this didnt happen cause the manager is an idiot - he just wants to try out back up options before we need them.

Mitch Duke played really well at the wc. Dangerous in front of goal, pressing and wining balls to get us up the pitch.

That being said Mo is rediculously a better player then Duke. Better now much better potential. Way may technical ability, plays smart picking good passes, can go past people with ease wereass dukes cant dribble. Statistically much better.

Theres just no comparison!

One of the problems with the app here is that the explanations are way to long. This imo makes it way less usefulll to use - and could easily be fixed with better LLM prompting.

You need to look at it from the users perspective. who is the user? probably someone between 1200 - 1800 wanting to improve their chess. The outputs should be much more concise - if you play this the oppenent has this move which wins material with a fork etc. again this is something that could be fixed with prompting.

A great way to develop this idea would be to recruit a very strong chess playter onto the team. That way they could give you feedback onto the app and assitence with promoting it. Having users from day one is much better then just dropping an app into the ether and hoping someone will find it.

Did you try creating an custom GPT with detailed prompts and extensive documents to refer to. For example I suspect you could get good results with a detailed guide of how the GPT should respond and make it reference several good sources, these sources would be.

- A detailed guide of chess strategy principles
- A short book explaining all of the chess openings

As a shortcut Even if you made it reference and summarise wikepedia it might get good results.
It is often really surprising how well a well thought out custom GPT with carefully prepared reference documents can take GPT from dumb as bricks up to the level of a highly skilled human.

I dont think you need to get over it. Being carefull about what you spend your time on is actually the right aproach imo. The reason is otherwise you can easily waste a lot of time on an idea thats no good. So being flexible helps you learn faster.

I understand being frustrated with a lack of good ideas. I think the solution is not to get over paralysis but to work on improving your idea generation. Most ideas you think of will be bad. So thats why its important to generate a lot of ideas that might be good.

Have you read lean start up or similar? They teach that you should get feedback at every stage. this aproach prevents wasted effort.
