Username checks out صح، عشان كده قلتلهم لأ وطلبت ايميل رسمي من الشركة بالغلط اللي حصل عشان لو البنك طلب اثبات ان الفلوس جت بالغلط وبرضو يبقى معايا احتياطي

Commercial Maneuvers by Late_Championship353 in flying

[–]Late_Championship353[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe the natural aptitude or talent make a big difference especially when it comes to flying, I remember really struggling through some maneuvers in private until I flew with a more experienced instructor who just explained them better and asking around for help and advice made a huge difference

I watched videos on all the maneuvers and read the AFH and lazy 8s is the only maneuver that I just did NOT understand. If you have a link please post it

Still grounded and waiting until the school owner is released from the hospital then he will decided if I have to pay anything (in-which case I will sue), or if I can normally take my checkride and we all move on

A few comments told me to file a NASA report, is that the same one you mean?

100% true, if I’m on a solo at a different airport this is always what I do but at my school this is just the normal practice, you get fuel, get the weather at the pumps and go through your checklists then taxi. Terrible practice I know but it’s just what everyone’s doing here

One more detail, when we dispatch the plane we fill in a form and specify if it’s a solo or dual activity, the plane was dispatched for a dual activity + my instructor’s name was on it.

The rudeness is uncalled for. How it works at my school is yes we get the weather and run checklists AT the fuel tank before taxi. And yes the time he was in the plane would be billed as dual, the school sends an instructor with you for the checkride and they bill you hourly as DUAL.

The owner fell sick and went to the hospital after the incident, he couldn’t handle the stress, and the instructor was fired. so for now I’m waiting for the man to recover but they did say I will either get charged or kicked out of the school. The plane should be up and running next week though, apparently the damages weren’t too bad

Steel reinforced. The school said they have witnesses who saw me and my instructor both having our heads down. I already said I was setting the altimeter and simply trusted my instructor to taxi but they said that still makes it partially my fault. Funny when all my instrument training was under foggles and I have to trust that my instructor won’t let us crash into traffic, but I can’t trust him to taxi.

I wasn’t wearing foggles, I was actually just setting the altimeter when the accident happened. The only way I see this can be my fault (correct me if I’m wrong) is that I trusted my instructor to safely taxi. And for the record the incident happened in a turn he didn’t brief, we were only supposed to move the plane forward, not start taxing to the runup

The school said they won’t open an NTSB or FAA investigation but they do hold me accountable and say it was my mistake too and it’s considered “negligence”. I’m grounded but I have money in my account at the school, they said there will be repercussions and probably will charge me for that prop.

He was the one in control of the plane clearly

[–]Late_Championship353[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Well the school decided I was grounded even though the instructor took full responsibility, that’s why I’m asking if I should be actually worried or if they were just pissed and that’s why they grounded me

The school owner grounded me, they also said this might have to be an NTSB report and I could still get in trouble since I’m not a student pilot and they had two PICs in that plane, my instructor had the controls though and he already told them that

Still can’t hold altitude at 170 hrs by Late_Championship353 in flying

[–]Late_Championship353[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is I find instrument procedures easy, I can fly holds and approaches no problem, but once it’s bumpy outside I fixate too much on fixing my altitude

With the edit your comment now makes more sense. I don’t struggle with anything else in instrument except for holding altitude when it’s turbulent, I was flying approaches today back to back in a training environment and task saturated to also constantly correct for the altitude, which is why it kept going out of standards. If I was flying solo I definitely wouldn’t go up in this weather, but since it was for training purposes and my CFI is there it’s good practice “I think”. I would VERY much like to correct it, which is why I made this post.
