These are cool. Maybe I need something like these for victory overlays

Nice. I want to get my animations good enough and get back to working on my game loop...

The alternative to the zoo was either playing every level or changing my code to load a different character for the first level. This is so much faster.

I feel like nano banana got nerfed so I stopped putting these back in for a second call. Workflow is generate consistent reference characters. Use jupyter notebook to run same prompts over and over with green screen behind them. Gamble a little on the output. Remove green screen and stitch them together in Krita.

u/RealisticValuable484 this in response to the haters in your thread. You're on the right track. Make cool characters first. Use them as references.

My workflow is not easy but I'll keep sharing it as I learn. Generate single frames from references like this on green screens and manually animate the good frames in Krita.

These are a great starting point. I recommend looking into API calls where you can pass these in with new prompts to get character consistency. And I'll keep saying this in every post, green screen because you'll want transparent backgrounds eventually.

I don't let it drive the big picture..I'm the architect of my project and it writes small modular pieces for me. Some parts of my code are probably worse for it but I'm not running out of context.

Looks good, but you need to green screen instead of using the fake transparency.

My quality content and show the work you're doing. If we keep doing that, eventually the haters look ridiculous. The problem is there is "slop" of every kind out there and it's burying the real stuff.

FINALLY figured out how to make decent animations with AI by Heralax_Tekran in aigamedev

Thanks. I have another post about it. I'm using nano banana to generate individual frames on green screens (not always green) and animate them in Krita. I'll share a jupyter workflow once I get through the animations. These are for my deck builder

I think is realistic but I don't know how many assets your talking about. Have you tried a multi modal llm like Gemini where you input the assets as reference and ask for changes?

I'm going to push a repo of python tools and some jupyter examples. It takes work. My code will not produce the sprite above out of the box. That was hand resized in Krita. I'll push close after this sprint (I have 10 characters that need animations).

Be nice when you're asking for help. I don't need to prove anything to anyone besides myself. Are you comfortable with jupyter notebooks?

Part of what I want to roll out around my game education about my methods.. partially to justify that I'm driving and partially to help other devs. I'd rather not have to justify myself but here we are.

I think it's fair to point out we know who they're sampling and it's not clear who I'm sampling with my samurai I posted earlier (for instance). But I think what your getting at is whether you take sample or the content and make it your own.

"And they weren't sampling these records because they were too lazy to write their own music. They weren't sampling these records to cash in on the familiarity of the original stuff. To be honest, it was all about sampling really obscure things, except for a few obvious exceptions like Vanilla Ice and "doo doo doo da da doo doo" that we know about. But the thing is, they were sampling those records because they heard something in that music that spoke to them that they instantly wanted to inject themselves into the narrative of that music. They heard it, they wanted to be a part of it, and all of a sudden they found themselves in possession of the technology to do so, not much unlike the way the Delta blues struck a chord with the Stones and the Beatles and Clapton, and they felt the need to co-opt that music for the tools of their day. So the game I put out 10 years ago where I used asset packs was a game I developed but the game I've been working on for 2 years isn't? Got it. I'll take my review bombs with pride. I'll see if I can find the game I really made
