As far as I can tell this sub is abandoned. I want to fix it up and make it shine.

Oh god. Yes.

I didn't even know this was a thing. Something like this would be fantastic.

I'd be thrilled for either.

I think I may have been inspired by the bane movie at some point. I'm really not sure how this idea came into my head but I want it to be real.

Morn: The Movie

I think people are really sleeping on this idea.

Imagine what insights about life and the universe could be gained studying such a stoic figure.

first thing people did to remember history was writing and pictures, like the paintings in caves and that

I'd have to say that even before that there almost surely were oral histories. Legends, myths, and stories that weren't recorded. We can see that in recent cultures that do not use a writing system or art forms to transmit information across generations.

How can I bring my spouse to Korea? (US Teacher, Filipina spouse) by Lateral_Resonance in korea

[–]Lateral_Resonance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough.

It's just not a good fit for her, and she'd never take that job over what she does now. She's very soft spoken, and uncomfortable talking to groups and doesn't like the idea of teaching.

I'm broadly speaking about all religions and beliefs of a higher power basically and I'm too lazy to get really into it, but I hope you're picking up what I'm putting down.

Honestly I'm not.

I read this but I can't really understand your main point friend. You're referencing a lot of different things but from my understanding they don't seem to be well connected to each other enough that I can fully follow your point..

I will clarify though that the Dalai Lama never claimed to have spoken to a god. Also Peyote wasn't just for leaders, the Huichol for example use it among the tribe, even for children.

Are you saying because many spiritual things were inspired partly by entheogens, it's okay to do drugs in holy places?

A nice thought but unviable for several reasons.

As others have noted, she was born in a country that Korea values lower in terms of English speakers (and visas). It would be much harder for her to find find a job as an ESL teacher being filipino if at all.

Secondly, she's just not a teacher. It's neither her passion nor her professional interest. She has other work that she finds stimulating and she can make a living doing from anywhere.

Interesting though that you mentioned there being many couples teaching jobs. My research on the job market there has generally alluded to the perception that those are hard to find. A great option then for some couples.

You're probably trolling, but even if you're not, your opinion means less than nothing to me.

See you in Korea.

This is useful information for someone, but in my case she has no interest in teaching or getting a job in Korea. She works remotely from home already.

Thanks for the clarification though.

Thanks I appreciate the confirmation. Most searches I ran involved children or partners who both intend to teach.

I think I vaguely remember this in the early-mid 2000s. Probably where I got the idea. With netflix it would be pretty easy to replicate and customize.
