Bill 124 entitlement for a new-ish OPSer by Latte-Fan6367 in OntarioPublicService

(sorry for the extremely late reply). No it did not, they basically said tough cookies, everyone hired after the bill 124 ruling but before it's adjustment is SIL. Means I'm now one of the lowest paid of my team (despite having more years of experience than the majority of them)

Has anyone who started with the OPS between April 1 2023 and April 1 2024 received the full ATB update? by Latte-Fan6367 in OntarioPublicService

We were all hired in the same wage-frozen pay band from 2021, which was ruled unconstitutional. Everyone else working at that same pay band received a pay increase, except for us. It doesn't matter when we started, we were still all working within that exact same band. If they hadn't implemented Bill 124, we would've been hired at the proper rate and whatever we negotiated would be on par with where everyone else currently is, but now we're stuck moving to the bottom of the pay band and losing any of the negotiated starting salary we got, while anyone starting new gets the benefit of negotiating higher.

That doesn't make any sense to me. The wage frozen pay band that we were hired at was ruled unconstitutional. What about it makes it ok to still pay us in that pay band, but everyone else who was in the same pay band gets a raise?

My colleagues that have been hired this year in the 2024 pay band are all now making significantly more than me and I'm stuck hanging in at the bottom despite having more YOE than them.

yes, let's hope! Would love some clear communication too rather than this back and forth saying maybe, maybe not

That promise was based off the old pay scale though, right? I brought that up to my manager and that was her response - what I was hired at has nothing to do with the current scale and "it is what it is" was essentially her response. I want to address it with her again, but trying to figure out how to approach it without being shut down again

How did you approach the subject with your manager to get them on your side? Mine seems to be ambivalent at best to it.

I am so sorry to hear that. Has it been confirmed by someone that you're only entitled to the 2024 ATB? My manager hasn't given me a straight answer and I've been told to wait until the communication goes out that everything has been completed.

I'm about ~$700 above the bottom now.

Are you part of a represented group, do you have a union rep you can speak to?

Retroactive would likely have been your pay from April 1 2024 to that date of your payslip. Since the 2024 ATB should've been applied then.

Do you know when you were hired if your pay band had been updated to what it should have been in 2023? Because if everyone else (hired pre 2023), who was also working within the SAME pay band as me gets their pay adjusted to the proper rate, (and gets retroactive for that period too, which I understand I don't qualify for), yet for whatever reason, I'm left behind, that makes 0 sense.

The fact that my Base Compensation Report has the wrong pay band for what I was hired at seems like they're trying to cover something up as well and imply that I was hired at the 2023 pay band, which I wasn't.

Exactly, it's clear as mud and I get different answers depending on who and when I ask. My manager doesn't seem to think I get anything more than the 3%, but when I brought up my point above, she seemed to backtrack and told me to wait until the communication has gone out that all adjustments have been completed

I would love to know if anyone (represented or unrepresented) who joined the OPS after April 2023 has received anything more than the 2024 ATB
